Last week I compared the Carolina Panthers offensive lines

This week it is time to take a look at the 2015 Carolina Panthers wide receivers against those of 2014. These lineups are as of today and this same day one year ago.

The lineup and approximate depth chart looks something like this...

20142015

Kelvin BenjaminKelvin Benjamin
Jerrico CotcheryDevin Funchess
Jason AvantCorey Brown
Tiquan UnderwoodTed Ginn
Kealoha PilaresBrenton Bersin
Marvin McNuttJerricho Cotchery
Tavaress KingStephen Hill
Brenton BersinMarcus Lucas
Marcus LucasJarrett Boykin
Corey BrownMike Brown
Toney ClemmonsDamiere Byrd
De'Andre PresleyDe'Andre Presley

Kelvin Benjamin took over the primary target spot last year from day one. From there, it does appear to be significant improvement in terms of starters and depth.

3 players in the Panthers top 6 options at this point last season ended up not making the team. Rookie risers Corey Brown displaced Jason Avant by mid season 2014.

The top 6 of 2014 compared to this far in 2015 shows tremendous improvement. Benjamin, Funchess, Brown, Ginn, Bersin and Cotchery look to be the best overall receivers corps the Panthers have had in many, many seasons.

Thus, by once again crunching the numbers and applying our proprietary Huddle Algorithm, I can safely say the Carolina Panthers receives have seen a 38.21% increase in skill, speed, and overall ability over this time last season.

Agree or Disagree?

I wouldn't object to switching a couple of digits and making it an 83.21% improvement. I think all the bases are covered now.

    • lmao that's a good point; but at the same time I think and HOPE Canales learned from how he operated last year, only giving us one real look against the Bills that had people shouting 'Super Bowl'...only to come out flat.
    • I mean the whole defense was trash, he was at least trying. Besides if you put a all-pro among 10 PSers, that all-world will look human. It's very hard to judge very bad units and find the best players among them. Horn and Mjack played well too, there was 0 pass rush and -1777784 run defense.
    • I was looking back and seen Evan Neal has made the switch to OG after awful years at OT.......I wanted him over Icky for his tricep alone..... I was 100% stroud too, I was super pissed about his record setting and playoff leading start......I had arich vastly over the midget BY too. But right now, BY is about the only one on the up&up. The Texans used lots of prime draft capital to help Stroud.  It's still not ready. But if you're honestly about past drafts, these GMs are not alone in making mistakes.  I still feel they should stayed put and allowed Carter to fall in their lap, but best I know Tepper had the worst rage about landing a QB for the past 5 years. The deal is with the correct coaching staff, Baker or darnold would still be here....Baker has signed 3 years for 100 million, which is a great NFL QB contract. Tepper hiring rhule and his shitty Baylor/temple staff was a massive setback given rhule was in control too. Then panic set in an d fitteerererererer had to make a winner and find a QB. Ugh.....I hope they are back...
