Give Our Panthers Some Training Camp Advice

Recommended Posts

Training Camp is upon us and we here at the Huddle are experts when it comes to the NFL. So give a few players some Training Camp advice to help them get off to a good start.

Kony Ealy - Show up in shape with a professional attitude. You can make a name for yourself this season.

Frank Alexander - Stay out of trouble, you are running out of chances.

Stephen Hill - Invest in stick um.

Brandon Williams - Please show us something on the field!

Kyle Love - Stay in shape! You have potential!

Ryan Kalil - Make sure Jonathan Martin can concentrate on Football and not locker room drama.

Amini Silatolu - Start diagnosing blitzes or you're done.

Lee Ward - Be useful in as many ways possible.

Mike Tolbert - Stay away from the Beacon. Only visit one of the Krispy Kremes per day.

Tre Boston - Know everyone's job. Be more vocal.

Devin Funchess - Use your hands to get open.

Cam Newton - Do not get hit this preseason!

A little off-topic but when did we stop having 2 a days at training cam? Looks like there's only 1 practice per day. Wussies.

Cam Newton: Mechanics. Say it with me Cam.. mech-can-nics.

Young guys: Be in Greg and TD's back pocket. Take notes. Sit next to them at meals. Learn how to be a pro.

KB: Learn how to catch the easy ones. Proehl is your best friend.

Shaq:  Come in early, leave late.  Learn how to study film from Luke and how to be a pro from TD.

Funchess:  Come in early, leave late.  Get extra work in with Cam and KB.  Stay in Proehl's pocket.

Lee Ward:  Coime in early, leave late.  Don't start killing people until the first pre-season game.  May lord have mercy on their souls.

Shula:  Come in late, leave early.  No eye contact and no talking.

    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
    • Just like we overpaid for Wharton.
