Brown, Boykin, Byrd?

Not saying anyone in particular, but some a-holes wanted to write all these guys off. Nothing is a given yet, and it's still early still to be giving anyone not named Benjamin and Funchess a pass.

Weren't you the one declaring over a month ago that Corey Brown wouldn't even make the roster?

Bit hypocritical there dawg, just saying.

First of all this forum was about Mike Brown, and, secondly, I never said that Corey Brown wouldn't make it, I alluded to the fact that I thought he was JAG and that I thought that Boykin was more accomplished and probably better. Moreover, I said that it would all boil down to competition during the preseason. I also said that, regardless, I don't want either one of them starting and that if we did we would have a problem. Lastly, I said that the name on the jersey really doesn't matter as long as the best man wins the job. So, no, I am not hypocritical, and I have always been a believer in competition over all.

That's the thing about the Huddle and the written word, it's all there in the record. Sure, I have been very skeptical of Corey Brown, but part of my expressions have been because I believe that a certain contingent in the Huddle has blown the guy up to legendary status, even though he was JAG as a receiver and returner, seems somewhat prone to injury, and in my mind is no more deserving of praise than Bersin. But, even though I continue to be skeptical, if Corey Brown lives up to his Huddle hype, then hip hip hooray. But, make no mistake, I haven't and would not write anyone off, no matter how some people want to twist words and create their own Huddle narrative to cast negativity upon top dawg. It's a football forum, we all have opinions, and no one has been 100 percent right about anything.

    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
    • That’s a grade I kind of expected tbh. I’m not a huge fan of NS, but he’s not as bad as what the huddle says he is minus the horrible game he had vs the Rams. I’ve always thought he’s often used as a scapegoat. The improved pass rush should hide his deficiencies a little bit better if he’s the game one starter. FS might have to be a position we punt on this year unless Thieneman falls to us at 19. The reality is, you're going to have a few average players in certain spots for a team with as many holes we had before free agency started. You can’t sign everyone.
    • I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch.  If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.
