First Hand Account of the Norman - Newton fight

OK, so practice is over, back at the laptop. 

 

Not sure what everyone has read already, so will just lay out what I saw. 

Josh Norman picked off Cam Newton on an out route. This was Cam's second awful pick of the day. The defensive players are taught to run to the end zone when they get a turnover, so thats exactly what Josh did. Cam Newton caught a forearm from I believe Josh (view was obstructed a bit.) Cam didn't appreciate it, threw Josh to the ground. 

After that, things remained tense and chippy throughout practice. 

 

Overall , Josh probably instigated it but it didn't warrant the level of reaction from Cam. Just frustration on Cam's part more than anything for the poor day he was having. 

 

Anyways, TD broke the huddle after practice with "FAMILY" so all is well in Panther land once again.

It wasn't like punches were thrown.  Tempers flared, as they do in all camps.  Play ball.

One reporter said one side of the line collapsed, maybe hurrying cam into a low pass that Josh had to go to the ground to pick. Did you see anything like that?

Thanks for the first hand account. Sounds like a minor scuffle...no biggie. I, for one, like the fire and competitiveness.  Also, I'm glad we've got a man like TD on our team to keep re younguns in line.

By this point in camp, guys are always a little chippy 

This is usually where you'll hear a coach say "they're really ready to hit somebody from another team".

Is it possible to smile and yawn at the same time? I suspect the guys have kissed and made up, and will be on their best behavior from now on.

Thanks Jeremy for a better overall picture of what happened because stories are spreading like wildfire on whose fault it was. I chalk this up to healthy competition and that if healthy at the end of camp and the season the defense will be top 5 for sure.

Everyone is good now I believe. This stuff tends to stay on the field.

Cam needs to focus more on reducing his turnovers. Can't lose your composure like that as a quarterback not to mention a leader.
