Randy Moss making a comeback

LUUUUUKE

People laugh it off but he would probably be our best receiver instantly.

As I stated in the OP, not advocating that we go get him, but for once, we have the cap space, it's a big name receiver that this whole board goes batsh*t crazy about every year a la Greg Jennings, Reggie Wayne, etc. With KB out, I could see at least a consideration. If by some miracle we signed him, before he even took a snap for us, this board would impode with SuperBowl .gifs

I don't personaly think he has enough left in the tank. I think at best he would be a good situational player. Even at that, I can't see the roster spot being given to him over one of our younger guys, it's just not what we have done historically. BUT, he's Randy Moss. I understand the temperment that we're all tired of X player being available and I'm the first one to admit that it's annoying. I think that this is different though, and for obvious reasons.

I'll be keeping my ear to the ground on this one.

I don't know... at 38 years old, I think him coming back would be more of a "me/spotlight" move for Randy, rather than a team-strengthening move.

Moss has a ton of experience, expertise and knowledge to pass on, but he's always struck me as a Smitty-type of player that is a phenomenal player, but not so much a teacher. Plus, I don't know if I'm confusing Moss or Ocho Cinco, but the last year or two of football memories that I have, are of Moss dropping passes and looking like a shell of his former self.

That being said, I did looooove the 30-for-30 on him. Incredible story.

    • What people fail to understand is Lance had a college career that lasted about as long as teenage boys first intercourse.  To say he was raw was an understatement.  So much so that even a QB whisperer had a difficult time molding him into a polished NFL product on top of multiple nagging injuries.  The dud is in his mid-twenties, finally healthy and little miles on the tread.  Low risk, high reward.  If he's available, it would be stupid not to kick the tires.  It took Darnold and Mayfield to hit their 3rd or 4th team for things to finally click.  This is Lance's 3rd stop, I believe.  It's either time for it to click for him or be relegated to a full time backup. Roll the dice....
    • Wrong.  At least we put a QB sneak in the play book and and add plays over 20 yards.
    • I don’t know if people realize that Evan’s was one of the top TE prospects in college  before having some horrible injuries. I wanna say he had two major injuries in back to back seasons which limited his play and dropped his draft stock.
