USA Today: Cameron Artis Payne will be OROTY

Recommended Posts

This is rather odd, esp considering it's coming from somewhere notable like USA today. It's funny, I contemplated making a thread yesterday predicting that CAP would be starting over J stew by mid season and Stewart would be benched because of struggling.

I didn't make the thread because out of respect for my fellow huddles request I'm taking a day or two break from making threads lol.

CAP looked amazing at Pittsburgh. I know it was pre season but he still looked great. Good speed, very fast reactions, great getting off blocks and seems to have great vision. I think he's going to be special

^^^^^FTW

Made me smile for so many different reasons. Why am I reminded of sending my children to college for the first time?

I think CAP will be starting this year, but due to J-Stew going down with an injury. CAP emerges as a legit #1 RB paving the way for NippleShorts to and co. to part ways with J-Stew this offseason.

Listen, unless Stew gets injured he's not getting benched with the kind of money he's making

There you go buddy, sometimes a response to an existing thread is just as good, in fact better, than starting a new thread on the same subject matter.

You've taken a big leap here today, and we all appreciate it.

You won't find a bigger Cameron Artis-Payne fan on this board than me.

But if CAP is starting, that means Stew is hurt and that's a bad thing for the TEAM.

So oddly enough I find myself pulling AGAINST this prediction.

But if circumstance put the Panthers in such a situation that he *did* win OROTY, I'd have a hard time holding back the i-told-ya-so's.  :)

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
