Brees DID NOT suffer a serious shoulder injury

I don't know who said what, but this story is posted on NFL.com

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000536109/article/drew-brees-rotator-cuff-likely-to-miss-games

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Saints believe quarterback Drew Brees has an injury to his rotator cuff, causing him weakness, pain and discomfort, that likely will cause him to miss games, according to sources with knowledge of the injury. Brees could potentially miss several games, underwent an MRI on Monday and is scheduled to undergo more tests to determine the injury on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Rapoport.

Rapoport added that his tests will be sent to Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. The belief is there isn't much structural damage, but they are waiting until Andrews to make a final call.

Being that it's there, I would assume that it's the most accurate information.

Sure, I guess he could play, but I don't believe that he'll be effective if he does. And I don't think they are good enough to beat us.

He threw 58 times though.  So he was only hurried 1 out of every 4 throws.  Tbh I don't really know, is that good?

I don't think it's too bad. However some of the attempts that weren't hurried were quick hits by Mallet. And this is where Brees was always good, especially against us.

What does any of that have to do with what he said? The Saints having Bountygate makes his statement any less douchey?

Its like clockwork. Panthers fans makes douchbag statement. I say something about it. "Derp. Bountygate. Derp."

I had nothing to do with the whole situation, so acting as if I can't call somebody for being an asshole is unauthentic.

let me be real honest here.

Reality is, if Brees plays, he will be hit/sacked/whatever. . . Which will most likely lead to aggregating the injury, best case scenario. More likely making worse.

Which would be finishing the job.

The original post wasn't wishing injury on a player.  The injury has already been done. Brees playing that Panther defense will finish the job.

That's  life.

Suck it up, buttercup.

Brees is washed up so it doesn't worry me at all that's he's playing. His noodle arm is not going to hurt us with their limited weapons. There was a time when Brees and their offense scared the hell out of me. That time has passed thank goodness. The sun has set on their franchise. It's over.

    • I was watching a YouTube and it was said that scout and GM insider types were saying the NIL had killed rounds 4-7. I don’t know that I buy it, seems like it might for a year or maybe two but then those guys have to move on.  NCAA is apparently about to give 5 years of eligibility. It is gonna skew those entrants older maybe.
    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
