Thinking back to the draft...

Is having a season on par with our 2nd round pick. In fact they're pretty similar in a lot of areas

I get this is supposed to be a homer rah rah thread but its kind of embarrassing as a whole in how contradictory it is to the "HES A ROOKIE" posts that skyrocket from the same contingent of the board whenever Funchess has missed an opportunity

Funchess has at least fought for the passes he's missed. DGB gave up on that ball and then looked surprised that the defender came up with it.

This is not a "Homer rah rah thread". It's an honest reflection on the excellent choice our general manager made last May.

It's too early to call, as he's a rookie.  As others have said, WR is a very hard position to learn the play in the NFL, and DBG wasn't exactly the sharpest crayon in the pack.  Funchess is pretty smart, seems to be working hard, and has caught more balls than he's dropped the past two weeks, which is nice.   How many INTs has a Funchess tip/drop created?  Again, its too hard to tell.

I do like 9-0 though.  I'll take the TEAM that's done that!

I am, dude is so talented.  He has learned his lesson, and lets please stop acting like Funchess has tore it up.  Only 20 more yards, and one less TD.  If Cam had DGB, Lawd.

Shocking that the most negative Panthers fan has  nothing nice to say about funchess.  I wish you were our GM...

I think the point of this thread isn't to say he's not great, but eat a bit of crow regarding their thoughts on taking him. It's not the fact that him and Funchess have similar stats. It's moreso the fact many thought he DGB would be an immediate #1 type guy and would look like Randy Moss right out of college. So they're glad to be proven wrong that he didn't immediately come out and ball out like last years unicorn rookie WR class.

I for one am glad we didn't take him mainly due to the fact that he has the potential to be a headcase.

Pretty much.

DGB was the starter yesterday due to the injuries in front of him, yet about the only time I remember even seeing him was when he basically just stood there and watched Kurt Coleman step in front of him and pick that pass off.

To hear some folks talk this past offseason you'd have thought we made the worst draft blunder in history by passing on him. He was going to be a beast that would take over the league.  So far, he hasn't even taken over his own team.

Yes, he has time, but I'd say the people who wanted him the worst in this year's draft should probably now admit they severely overrated him.

Another shitty thread made by an OP with an over inflated ego. No surprise. This guy can't even let rookies have full seasons under then before trying to label people busts. Same people who tried to label manziel a bust after 2 and a half games last year. Excepting rookies to dominate a league full of grown men with years of experience under their belts is extremely rare. This thread is straight garbage

Anybody still upset that the Panthers didn't get Dorial Green-Beckham?

I believe he would have been successful here like KB was. The panthers have the right formula with a great defense, franchise QB,  and a top running game that almost any WR taken in rounds 1-2 would have been successful. Hell just look at Ginn & Brown.
