I would push for pnut to be back this week so we don't have to run our God awful zone with Colin jones and Bene getting torched. Then we could play more man, blitz more, kill Matt Ryan, create turnovers, stuff like that .

oh I agree, we should be pushing for Peanut to come back.  I think we are pushing for it.

Werder just doesn't understand why we are pushing for it.  We don't want to have to play Cortland a full game being so brand new.  He still is learning our system....but we might be forced to b/c Jones is horrible

I like the physical play of Colin Jones, but he doesn't have the ability to cover the slot. I've seen it with my own eyes enough to make that assessment.

Big name guy....not being very good at his job.

Werder tweeting out this morning that Carolina is trying to push Tillman to get him back...b/c they want him to matchup on Julio Jones.  LOL.  He gets paid for that.

My 5 yr old knows that the Norman career explosion began last season with shutting down Julio Jones.  Peanut?  Seriously?  How do people get paid just to blurt out random stuff.   I mean, it takes very little effort to get some stuff right.  Ron Rivera would need to be fired on site if that was his "plan"

Exactly...Peanut would be on Old Man Roddy White.

Geriatric battle that would be.

By the way, it's entirely possible someone in the Panthers organization leaked this to Werder in order to throw off the Falcons just to screw with their game planning.

If you remember, Addison said there was no chance he would play against the Packers and was targeting the following week then he played against the Packers. Peanut said he planned to be back against the Saints when it was pretty well known around here he had no chance at playing.

Nah.  Everyone that follows the NFCS knows the deal.  Julio is the matchup Norman has had circled all season long.

Just bad reporting.  Ask Ed Werner about the Colin Jones problem and national guys and they won't get the problem.  That is the Peanut push despite Peanut not replacing him specifically

Ed now claiming he asked Rivera awhile back about Tillman signing and Rivera stated the division has big WRs.

Yes.  They do.  That doesn't mean what you tweeted

Doesnt seem like a leak or new info. Sounds like someone randomly posting something that isn't factually or logically correct in terms of this specific matchup

This is Deion Sanders' favorite coverage strategy. Put your best CB on their WR2 and double their WR1. Two is pretty much always going to be better than one in coverage even when the one is as good as Norman and that way you can better eliminate two receiving threats rather than just one.

Josh Norman would probably spontaneously combust if you told him he was covering Roddy White instead of Julio, but it's a very solid strategy.

Why is taking a guy who can obviously do the job alone against their WR1 (through previous proven performance) and putting him on their WR2 just so you can use up more of the assets of your defense on their WR1 a good strategy?

Actually, teams have been moving their #1 WR around a lot the last few weeks against the Panthers especially moving them to the slot.  It makes sense that the Panthers would want Tillman back for this game as slot coverage has been hurt in his absence with Bene moved to #2.  Plus, most of the Panthers more exotic blitzes rely on Norman staying on his side covering 1 on 1.  Clearly the Panthers don't like Norman moving around as it limits what they can do.

I believe that McDermott & Rivera will work out a solution so they are anything but limited by any strategy to hide the #1 WR. Then teams will stop doing it.

Did anyone else notice that, last game, Norman was often at the middle of the line of scrimmage until the Saints broke their huddle? That's new. Wonder what the reason was. Any guesses?
