It's still surreal

I turn on the TV and see Super Bowl previews, and they're talking about my team. 

On all the sports channels and sports radio, Panther players are all over the place.

I'm still processing that we're going to the Super Bowl.

Totally agree, I've woken up every morning since Sunday and said to my family: "Can you believe the Panthers are in the Super Bowl"?

I see the same thing...but I think about when they say we won it. I'm so confident in this team and organization. It's all I hear. Them crowning us. I know some people think that's taboo. IDFAF. I've felt blowouts for the playoffs and I feel it for this game too.

There is not much work getting done by me these 2 weeks.

Im spending 79% of my day refreshing various sports sites for new articles, 20% looking/begging for sb tickets, and 1% everything else.

I've been in Philly since August this year. Entire time I've been here I've been walking around in Panthers gear. Before the season started, when we were 4-0, 8-0, 12-0, 14-0, all the way to now. Literally nobody outside of the bar I watched games at ever mentioned anything. I was in Boston for the weekend and flew back here yesterday and I've had literally 20+ people try to talk to me about the Panthers, and a couple accuse me of being a bandwagon. It's absolutely surreal. Being in the Super Bowl has really put us in the spotlight nationally.

It's so wierd, it's almost like I just can't enjoy the moment. Or my body is holding back in case I blow up entirely.

The wife and I have been together for almost 25 years. For 24 and 1/2 of those years I had to fight to watch sports. Now, if something comes on talking about the Panthers, she lets me watch it. I don't have to go to my room and watch it, she watches it with me. She has even taken it upon herself to learn some football.

 

Not sure how I truly feel about this. Sports used to be my thing. Not sure I like sharing the Panthers. I mean, I love her to death. But part of me kinda want my Panthers back. Does that make me a bad guy?

You remember that post you made in All Pro last year during the down times looking at possible assistants for our next coach:

Gary Kubiak...? Crazy that we're now playing his team in the Super Bowl under Rivera.

Yeah, "productive" is not gonna be an adjective for me for the next few weeks.
