Richard Sherman dropping truth bombs while coming to Cam's aid

Richard Sherman is already on the record as a Cam Newton supporter, but as Super Bowl 50 week kicks off and Newton is the No. 1 topic of discussion, Sherman is coming to Newton's defense again.

Sherman essentially dropped the mic on the "old-school" critics of Newton, not by saying anything inflammatory but by bringing some much-needed perspective to the discussion and snapping the critics back into realizing that football is a game and meant to be fun.

Here's what Sherman said on 710 ESPN Seattle:

"He hasn't done anything wrong to anyone. He hasn't done anything off the field or hurt anyone or committed a crime or done anything. He plays the game like a young kid, like a kid's supposed to play it. This is a game. This isn't life. This isn't government. This isn't military. This isn't anything that's that serious. I think people are taking it out of perspective.

"They're saying he's a bad example for kids. This is a kid's game. Unless he's cursing or putting the middle finger up or pulling his pants down or doing things like that, then I don't get what they're saying. The guy's going out there and playing as hard as he can, living the dream and treating it like that. He's honoring the game in his own way, and I think that old-school way of thinking is why the conversation is going so long."

There really isn't anything to hate about the Panthers other than the success they've had this season. Jealous and bitter fanbases who have never (or just rarely) experienced any success will hate your team for that reason alone. Just wait until you win the SB, it'll only get worse. And if you win another one next year or the year after? They'll hate you for at least a decade.

Personally, I just love the game of football, and I enjoy watching teams with talent who go out there and have fun while dominating the opposition.

I keep saying that team wouldn't be so easy to hate if it wasn't for their fans and Jesus Wilson's holier-than-thou act.

This is probably why there's that reported Riff, between Lynch and the defense against Wilson. Cause those guys are just REAL, and don't give a damn! LOL

Sherman should know after his comments Superbowl victory comments/tirade of what Cam's going through. . So you can understand him coming to Cam's defense.

Yeah, their fans are sure stupid. Cause, they'll still hate Cam and criticze his antics, though Sherman's dropping sensible knowledge (and has been accused of similar game related stuff as Cam). Go figure.

More respect for ya Mr. Sherman.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
