The media seems to get it

So far from the majority of National media (ESPN namely) they understand what Cam did. When you loose a Superbowl it really hurts, but expressly for people like Cam who hate loosing more than anything. He felt like he let his team and all the fans down. It's really hard to put on that face for the media and answer questions about how he feels in that moment and not blow up at them and tell them off. He answered some questions and instead of saying something stupid that would hurt him or the team, he walked away. I'm sure he will look back at this and learn from it. I am new to posting here so I'm not sure if this deserves it's own thread or if I should have put it into an existing thread. But most seemed like they were bashing Cam and I didn't want to do that.

I think it's ridiculous that they even have these kinds of media obligations right after a game.  And I don't mind Cam's supposed "sulking" either.  What should he be, content with losing?  I like that he hates losing and lets it show.  Winners are driven, almost obsessive people.  They don't just accept losing.

Are the media forgetting it was Lombardi himself who said "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser"?

I don't blame Cam one bit.  Dilfer (of all people) was defending Cam's decision to talk away from the press on that one.  The reality is he just lost the biggest game of his life.  It has barely sunk in at that point.  Cam is not a BSer.  He's not going to BS the media with QB-Media-Blah-Blahs that so many other QBs do:  "We didn't execute.  We didn't make plays...blah blah blah BS."

Instead Cam is frank and honest.  If he had talked he would have either broken down completely, or said things that would have been the worst possible things to say.  People are going to hate on him for not talking to the media.  They are going to call him names.  Fug'em.  He's our QB, he's emotional, which has its pros and cons.  But he's our guy.

Clearly Cam still has some growing up to do and I expect him to improve from this and likely apologize in the next couple days.

I agree it is ridiculous that you have to do a presser right after you lost the game of your life, but this is part of being a professional.

Honestly I dont want him to apologize for a thing.  I love Cam as our QB exactly as he is...viscerally hating to lose and all.

We all fall in love with him wearing his emotions on his sleeve when we are winning but want something different after a loss?  I don't buy it.

Cam should be Cam - period.  I support him 100%.

i just think back to forehead's "protection problems" comments after the colts' 2005 playoff loss to the steelers whenever i see or hear riveting hot takes about cam's demeanor when dealing with the media

people used to say the exact same stuff about peyton manning

I think that's why they have these interviews right after a game, so they can try to get some kind of natural, raw reactions.  I mean why give these guys a chance to compose themselves?
