Who Should Go or not resign

Jared Allen - Love him but really didn't bring much additional to the team.

Dwan Edwards - really didn't hear much about him

Charles Johnson - Not much production from him in 2015 - Time to let Ealy go full time

Lastly I have been on the fence about this one but,

Jonathan Stewart - Unless he is willing to restructure,  We could find another bruising back at a much better price.  Plus being a super bowl contender I think we would just about anyone we offer would consider it..

What do you guys think of keeping Finnegan.

Once Bene comes back McClain would be obsolete.

Your thoughts?

Charles Johnson- peace out

Jared Allen- unless it's a very discounted deal then peace out

Harper- unless discounted deal then peace out

Tolbert- welcome back

Stewart- thanks for everything, good luck in your career

Cotchery- KB is back, way too critical drops yesterday. Brown, Funchess, KB, Ginn is what we are rolling with and whoever we draft

Edwards/Love- stay as long as their cheap

Peanut- great man but his age and an ACL, wish you well but he won't return

Norman- enjoy the tag

That's how I see it

Would you take Stewart if we somehow was able to extend to a more cap friendly salary?  I think he has plenty in the tank and a outstanding running back.  Lots of experience with Cam on the zone read.  He has his benefits only injury is a big concern.

Everything else I think is spot on.

Charles Johnson - His body is falling apart, and he's not producing. Gone.

Jared Allen - Too old. Gone.

Roman Harper - The slowest starting safety in the NFL. Gone.

Jerrico Cotchery - The slowest WR in the NFL, and pooped the bed in the SB. Gone.

Peanut - One of the slowest CBs in the NFL, and body is falling apart. Gone.

Jonathan Stewart - His production matches his pay, and our other RBs are a major downgrade. Welcome back.

Josh Norman - Congratulations on your new contract with our team.

Remmers - Pooped the bed in the SB. Welcome to career backup. Had flashbacks of Nate Chandler watching him *shudder*

McClain - No real need to sign him for depth when you can just cut him, and then if needed sign him off the street again.

Finnegan - Can stay for cheap, or hit the bricks. Who cares? Could be roster churn.

Not much to argue with in what you write.

LOVE J. Stew and he was huge for us this year.  BUT his cap #.  and his late-season injuries.... do raise the question of whether he stays.  I think we keep him, but maybe we should not have him be our bell cow back.  The wear & tear took their toll. As much as I hate to say it, I think he needs to share time with CAP or Wegher or someone we add in the offseason.

Finnegan was "retired" before we signed him.  Not sure he'll stay another year...  Maybe we keep him and see how he competes in camp.

McClain I could definitely see us keeping.  He's still pretty young.  I'm assuming Peanut retires or only plays a limited role, so we do need another CB along with Josh & Bene.  Question would be who plays nickel:  Bene or McClain?  I like Bene better on the outside...  We'll have to see if McClain works at Nickel.

Finnegan I really like.  I think he fits our scheme and could very well revitalize his career.  At a fair price I would hope he stays.

McClain, I guess I would need to see a larger body of work.  Seems he was the go to guy because Norman had his guy locked down.  But definitely give him a shot during TC.

Stewart HAS TO RENEGOTIATE to remain a Panther.  No way we keep him for the $$$ he is going to get.  What I would like to see is CAP and Wegher battle it out during TC on the 1st team.  Maybe be a new Double Trouble for us. Part of the reason I wish we could have played Wegher and CAP a bit more in games we had in hand.   Nothing beats game time situations.

Within 48 hours of losing a football game the fanbase of the Panthers is ready to make wholesale roster changes based upon the performances of that single game.

Left up to some of you, I'm surprised you weren't calling for SB half-time trades and free agent signings in hopes of making a game of it in the second half.

Just stop for second. Breath. Let the people who get paid to make the decisions do their jobs.

Not wholesale changes. If it was we would be talking about cutting half the wr corp. Short off-season so cuts will be happening any day now. So it is discuss it now or never.

Charles Johnson- Restructure and starter at left end

Jared Allen-  If no CJ restructure, he will adjust the contract and start opposite Ealy, can't keep CJ and Allen.

Tolbert- welcome back

Stewart- Needs to be back

Cotchery- Bye

Edwards/Love- stay as long as their cheap

Peanut- great man but his age and an ACL, wish you well but he won't return

    • Yeah, I could jump right into the unbelievable Bryce debate now that some people are trying to flip the script because Bryce Young has, at most, a handful of decent games as a pro, but that's going to work itself out. Suffice it to say that I've seen better QBs (with an s) in a Panthers uniform, and I've certainly seen better QBs be drafted while we're playing around with Bryce, one of them who beat the crap out of us already this season... Let's forget about Bryce (and his markedly underwhelming play since he's been here); I think that most sane fans will agree that drafting him was an error, but it happens. Sure, it doesn't happen to the tune of King's ransom---including your main receiver---but it happens. You bet, you lose. Speaking of receivers...and betting and losing... Oh, man, we drafted Xavier Legette. Yes, just like with Bryce, I've entered "the dark side." Some Huddlers were telling us from the beginning, and they were right. But, I'm not apologizing for waiting to see what a guy's got before making my decision on him. X was a one-year wonder at South Carolina who parlayed some really nice production that season, a great personality and thick country accent, into becoming a first round pick (but only in Carolina). For Dan Morgan and company, He was a big swing that has turned into a big whiff (and I can still feel the ill breeze from that one). Sh¡t happens, right? Well, not so fast. Ladd McConkey was the decidedly more polished receiver who was literally ready to hit the ground running as soon as stepping onto the field as a pro. Ladd was never the biggest guy (though not the smallest), but he was the guy that could run routes, always seemed to get open---no question---and had the same speed as X, but with legit quickness and nuanced shake and bake. But Dan chose the project. He chose the guy where the game speed looks more like a tractor trailer than a 5.0 mustang. Look, I've supported X (just like Bryce) many many a day, but no more. Now I'm not saying that I won't root for the guy. Just like with Bryce, he seems like a great kid. But as far as giving excuses for the kid, and, perhaps more importantly, waiting for some miraculous breakout, I'm done with that. I've seen enough. You don't draft a project for a project. And yes, Bryce had proven to be a project after his first season. In my mind, drafting a supposedly number one receiver that needs lots of development for a starting quarterback that needs immediate help to try and further his development is not going to lead to good things. Pick the surest guy. Or at least pick the one who appears to be the surest guy, because picking can be tricky... especially when you're too busy tricking yourself.
    • Winning ain't gonna make my eyes lie to me. Context matters, and it will always matter in the game of football.
    • That TD pass to Legette against Miami. Elite. The play where Bryce rolls right to buy time until Tet can reverse field.  Bryce pumps as multiple defenders close in.  He barely gets it away before he takes a big time hit.  Beautiful off platform throw and great catch by Tet.   The second TD to Tet against Dallas where Bryce dips and turns his shoulder in to evade the pass rusher.  Resets and finds Tet in the end zone. Dude embodies the Keep Pounding mantra.
