The offensive line

Overall the o line did decent this year. But I feel that we can upgrade at the OT position. I think Daryl Williams will become the starting RT over Remmers. But we still need to shore up the o line to protect our mvp. Either through the draft, FA, or both.

If I remember correctly, Williams was looking very good early on last year before his injury, but the injury allowed Remmers to establish himself.

Woildnt surprise me a bit of Williams starts next season. Remmers would still be a valuable and versatile backup.  It'd be awesome to have your starting RT during a 15-1 SB run season as a backup.

Who's to say Williams can't transition over to LT with a fully-healthy year starting as RT this year?

Oher got a 2-year contract, right? I'd extend Remmers a couple extra years and draft a true RT if he's the best player available on our board and move Williams over to LT and continue coaching Remmers at center, where I believe he is our backup center as well as being our starting RT.

That would sure up our OL and allow us to dump Kalil's 11-million dollar price tag after next season that we could put into extending KB and at least one of our DT's.

Do you realize the value of a good center?  You don't dump a 5 time pro bowler.  He is too valuable to this team.  If he were constantly injured than maybe but he is the leader of the Offensive Line and his value cannot be based on just how much he hits the cap.

You save money and weaken the interior portion of our line.  So we shore up the tackle spot and now the interior part our O-line is suspect.  Not a wise move.

Agreed, I want to keep Kalil until he retires. The man played his best season last year, and is undoubtedly one of the best centers in the game.

This

Our staff was pretty high on him.  Think this kid could up being a flat stud at RT for us.  The thing that stands out the most to me since he's been in college is how he plays.  A big Reason why our young OG's are so good is they play with that nasty mean steak.  Williams plays with that same mentality, he's out there to put someone in the dirt.

Would love to have Amini Silatolu back. Our depth was exposed in the Super Bowl when Norwell went out with a hamstring injury.

Chris Scott simply cannot pass block and will not be back.

Silatolu is not good.   He needs to be upgraded as well.

Silatolu will be like Velasco was this year. Unemployed until the injury bug hits and we need a lineman that knows our system. Amini's not durable enough to get a full year contract.

I'd like to re-do Kalil's deal to add a year or two to reduce his salary cap this year, plus let him retire a Panther

Amini was actually playing well this year until he got hurt (his injury issues are a different conversation). Amazing what a difference having a quality tackle next to him made.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
