I really think Richardson and Kraft have a lot to do with that just like it does with Richardson and Rooney for our preseason games against the Steelers. All 3 of them are part of the "old guard" of ownership and get along quite well. It's been NE in week 3 and Pitt in week 4 for the past 3 years and we've played NE in the preseason a bunch prior to that as well. Them being east coast AFC teams is another reason it works out well for those matchups by the way.

For one series if even that. Smith coming off an achilles is extremely likely to skip a preseason game or two or play very little if he does play.

I'm thrilled that the 4th preseason game is at home as that let's me pay full price to watch a bunch of people who won't be on the team.

The preseason schedule is somewhat interesting. Not noticing we have played the Steelers every year with  Pats, Ravens, Dolphins, and Bills mixed in pretty much every year is surprising.
