Panther players responses to Josh Norman's release on social media

Almost nil.  I checked most of the players Twitter's and Instagram's, almost no mention of Josh being released.  I know it just happened today, but Panther players aren't crying out to the world about it yet.  If you see anything feel free to post it here, I'm interested to hear what the players think about cutting him loose.  But overall, the Panthers organization likes their players tight lipped about stuff like this I'm sure.  They had guys like Deangelo Williams and Steve Smith who had big mouths, and have clearly been trying to find guys who tow the line.

Only tweet I saw from a Panthers player about it was Charles Johnson @randywattson re-tweeting this post.

Cam made what seems to be an unrelated instagram post.

knew he was going to demand a lot after this past season..and he seams to be stern on his cost and Gettleman is not going to handicapp the team after 1 great season..Thats what happens when you get to the top players want more.. and the GM says see ya! Thank you we can replace you cheaper!! So I hope Norman comes cryin back

I was about to start a thread on this, I woke up realizing...Wow, I've seen literally almost NO response.

I saw more guys wishing Luke a Happy Birthday than even making mention of any "We'll miss you bro. Always family." type of posts.

Which to me can be very telling.

So before the psychologists on the Huddle start analysing this situation into "well derrr of course Jno had to go, none of his teammates liked him" just remember there are more ways in which players communicate with each other and if one of my best mates was going to another state I'd probably pick up the phone and talk to him privately.

The idea is that there is an expectation of some kind of "thanks for the good games" from teammates.  You saw that when Smith was released, and Deangelo.  Now that's not to say Josh wasn't a well liked teammate.  But it is a little telling.  It's like announcing you're retirement and everyone going "meh."  You just tend to hear a little more chatter about these kinds of things, so I guess it is a little odd.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
