today's pre-draft presser

Captain Morgan

Well, G-man admitted that he reached for Kugzilla. Well I'll be. He took that as a well-learned lesson not to deviate from his board.

In addition to the one-player-away theory, he also said that he doesn't believe in the window theory. Gettleman is all about the long run. I can't hate on that.

Sure, he mentioned four first round grades at OT, but before someone gets happy, they will all likely be gone when we pick.

Call me naive, but I just believe in the guy. No, I don't believe he's perfect (and Kugzilla isn't his only mistake), but he sets the team up for sustained success, even if there are awkward---maybe even, bizarre---moments.

So.....we're not forfeiting the season then?  I mean, we let go of Josh, we can't play can we?

Jokes aside, it was a good presser, and always a great job by the Captain to fill us in.  My hope is that we are able to add the best players and continue to get better.  While we did OK in the sack numbers, I'd like to see us continue to add pressure.  Getting some coverage and passrush will be helpful.

My take:

All the OT's he gives a first round grade to will be long gone by 30.

High sack numbers/pressures make mediocre DB's look good.

The draft is loaded with Hog Mollies.

look for a DE (or pass rushing DT) in 1, and OL in 2. Of course, WTF do I know, yesterday I was picking a TE in 1 and a WR in 2.

OT's Spriggs or Ifedi will not be an option at 30. C Ryan Kelly might be.
