Panthers Release Boykin

Mini Huddle meltdown coming, I fear.  Very surprised re: cutting Boykin.

And also Dowling.  We're not exactly deep in veteran safeties either.

Also, Jeremy said Rigsbee looked pretty bad at tackle...  So, not signing another Oline guy is a surprise as well.

Takes a deep breath.  "In Gettleman I trust"  .... but boy these are not OBVIOUS moves!  He definitely is different from us armchair GMs, may he continue to make us all look VERY VERY SILLY for the moves we THINK he should make.

Just now, Jeremy Igo said:

Has more to do with how good Sanchez looked, imo.

Agreed, but even you made note of how good Worley looked. I was excited about him when we got him, only to be told of how he was terrible by some.

Just now, electro's horse said:

lol dowling isn't a surprise the dude has played 12 games in 4 years he's damaged goods.

I didn't have high hopes for him, but we have had some success in rehabilitating and getting success out of other "damaged good" or discards...  figured we could at least have him in Training Camp for competition...

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
