Jonathan Jones has an interesting tidbit posted at the Observer this morning:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/nfl-blog/article80954337.html

here's an excerpt:

Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera had almost reached his boiling point on a hot Tuesday morning less than an hour into his team’s organized team activities session.

Furious with how many times his defensive linemen were being fooled by Cam Newton’s hard counts, Rivera almost re-started the entire practice from the beginning.

Defenders jumped no fewer than three times, including one from Super Bowl stud defensive end Kony Ealy that had defensive line coach Eric Washington shouting at his players.

“I was real close to starting practice over again,” Rivera said. “I know we have a time limit but when the coaches stepped up and just started going right at the guys I backed off and let the coaches handle it.”

And that's how you emphasize focus. Nice.

Yeah, that was my least favorite Panthers' tidbit to read today.

In reality I'd assume Remmers would first get a crack at LT, with D. Williams taking over for Remmers at RT.

Agreed. There is no way Foucault is better than Remmers, even if Remmers is moved to the left side. Who knows though, maybe Foucault has made strides. Let's hope Oher stays healthy and its a moot point.

    • It shows how short the actual span of a NFL career actually is.  We get caught up with the few guys that play until 40-years old, but that's an extraordinary tiny fraction of the League.  What you may or may not have intentionally done there is show how we quickly move off guys like that but are stubbornly hanging onto Bryce.  His new running mate, Kenny Pickett, drafted just one year earlier is already on his 4th or 5th team.  Kenny isn't horrible, but he's not good enough to be a franchise QB.  Some franchises get it, chalk it up as a miss and move on.  Others double down on trying to make things work until the relationship completely deteriorates. *cough* Dolphins and Cardinals *cough*
    • Winner of 7 vs 8 seed game gets 7th seed. Loser of that game plays against winner of 9 vs 10 seed game. Winner of that game (loser of 7 vs 8 against winner of 9 vs 10) gets 8th seed. So in reality if you make it to the 7 vs 8 game, it’s win and in for your team. Lose that game and you get another shot at getting in. If you have to play the 9 vs 10 game, lose once you are gone. Win the first game as a 9 vs 10 competitor and you still have to win again to get in.
    • DJ Chark, Hayden Hurst, and Bradley Bozeman all started for the Carolina Panthers during Bryce Young’s rookie season. All 3 have announced retirement after two years.  Scott Fitterer was that bad.   And his #1 receiver Thielen also just retired
