With the deadline for a long-term deal looming, the Denver Broncos have offered star middle linebacker Von Miller a record $70 million guaranteed as part of a six-year, $114.5 million deal the sides had agreed to in June, a source said.

the idea that he was just going to sit was unrealistic from the start.  it was going to take some time but something was going to eventually get done.  i'm having a hard time thinking of a more valuable player on that team.

Who thinks that we would even consider offering that much to any player not named Cam.  We will have to see if it pays off or not.  They do have a ring and he was a big part of it.

He is obviously an amazing talent but I just can't see throwing that much money at one player outside of a QB. It was a few years ago people were doubting him after an off-year. He had one of (if not the) best supporting cast on defense that left him 1-on-1 all the time. Once Ware retires and now that some of those stars are being plucked away he may not see that anymore. They are handicapping themselves as far as the rest of the team goes and that much guaranteed means they will have no way of getting out of it. I know pressuring the QB is huge in the NFL and they probably had no choice but I can't see this being a good business move.

The June part was the 114.5 M, The problem had been the guaranteed money until now.
