Aldon Smith is dumb, very very dumb.

Yes... he's that dumb.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the NFL is investigating a Periscope video which allegedly shows Raiders suspended OLB Aldon Smith smoking an unidentified substance.

The video is titled "Fire up session" and shows a lit, hand-rolled cigarette. While Smith's face is not seen on the video in question, his voice is clearly heard, and the post comes from an account which featured Smith on camera several times. A woman astutely warns Smith he should not be posting the video, but Smith says it is fine because "they don't have my name." He then says his name at the end of the video. Already suspended until at least November, this situation is unlikely to earn Smith any more fans in the league office.

Male: You’re stupid. You’re tripping. (Expletive deleted), they don’t know it’s me. It’s not like I put “Aldon Smith”…

How is it possible for one person to be this dumb? I would have though he would have forgotten to breathe years ago being this dumb.

Wow wow wow.

It's not like I posted Aldon Smith....

Holy fuging poo. He doesn't deserve to play in the NFL.

I don't even think there's anything wrong with smoking weed, but when you are in his position...yeahhhh.

Number 1: You don't know if it is an illegal OR banned substance. Number 2: You can make any assumption you want about what is in a hand rolled cigarette. Number 3: I used to hand roll my cigarettes because it is far cheaper and adds an element not often used by those addicted to nicotine. Number 4: I quit smoking. Number 5: It's fairly obvious that he knows one of two things:

  • There is nothing illegal about what he is doing and has nothing to worry about
  • He has far and away more money than he ever dreamed of having and has lost all interest in actually leading a productive life during his prime earning years as an athlete.

Number 6: Unless he fails a drug test, this will be a non-issue.

His being suspended under the drug policy means he's subject to regular testing, and his posting of this video may just hasten the next scheduled appointment.

He's an idiot.

So.....if it isn't an illegal substance or something that they test for then he has no reason to be worried. Or did i misrepresent something in my comments?

    • Is it love when they say you reached for pick number 22 at 8?
    • I wonder if the Steelers are setting themselves up for a tank year to get a QB? Trading talented head case Pickens, rumors that TJ Watt is on the trading block, that dumpster fire of a QB room, etc. It sure doesn't look like they're trying to win next year.
    • And this is how the proverbial ‘window’ is created. You go 2 CONSECUTIVE drafts where you have to hit on your first 2 picks, but you also strike gold on a few later round guys as well. Over the course of a couple years, you’ve loaded the team up with 5+ studs (on rookie contracts) who raise the level of play of everyone around them. If there is a franchise QB in place already, a legacy is now possible.  The TIMING of hitting on the right kind of talent is crucial. Hitting on a stud here and there every few years actually HURTS the team. Just by their high level of play, the team may win 2+ games they had no business winning, and really screw up draft position. Now the team is stuck in draft purgatory, constantly missing out on a top 5 pick.  This team is close to having the must have spots filled. QB (controversial), LT (controversial), WR, center (TBD), edge, DT and corner. These are the spots the real contenders are deep at.  Draft teachable, high motor, healthy 5 star performers from top 15 schools who show up to play every Saturday and play like they actually love the game. Just imagine the boost that hitting on 2 stud edge guys AND an LT over the course of 2 years.  Stop this dumbass wasted 2nd round pick from eastern Idaho state tweener project safety who had 1 good year after coming back from a season ending knee injury, but he impressed at the combine…. And this is exactly what this draft was.
