Hakeem Nicks.

Greg Jennings.

Can someone search for the old threads where I used to get into it with people for saying I'll trust Gettleman over people on this board and a bunch of people told me how dumb I was and that these guys were the answer?

I'd love to bring those up because I'm an asshole.

people get caught up with the name. Nicks is done. Like I said Im a huge UNC fan and I have very little interest in bringing him in. I'm surprised we haven't seen any threads on Marques Colston. I think the WR corp is probably pretty much set for the next few years, with a tweak here or there. Next tweak probably comes when they move on from Teddy in the next couple of seasons and use a 3rd rounder on a guy.

add Percy Harvin, Andre Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Stevie Johnson, Mike Wallace, and Cris Carter's kid Duron

People that called for these signings proved they don't know a thing. Would love to see those old threads

I wonder if there's ever been a player thats never actually played for the team more heavily discussed on this board than Hakeem Nicks.

I don't know, man. Seems like there used to be a whole lotta discussion on how Andrew Luck was better than Cam. That's kinda died down for some strange reason...

I wouldn't exactly say that. Nothing wrong with competition. Overpaying and contract structure is where the big problems begin.

Harvin was asking for way too much money considering his injury history, ability to be used as  an every down receiver, and general antics. Andre Johnson was asking for too much money for his age and loss of a step. Mike Wallace was just asking for too much money. These were never going to happen here.

Duron Carter would have been a cheap signing with no guarantees due to his issues,  so there would have been little risk. Gettleman did bring him in for a visit. It was Carter that chose the Colts. Like I said, nothing wrong with testing waters.

Stevie Johnson would have been excellent to have here. He has really been a value (notwithstanding his recent knee injury) wherever he has been, so I don't see why you listed him at all.

I don't remember too much noise about Bowe, but he likely would have been released before the regular season.

Edit: Perhaps I should have left the Bowe automatic correction as "Bowel"

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
