Are we officially free of all of Huney's contracts?

I'd put him on my ignore list, but his responses are so incoherent and funny that I just can't do it.  You have to admire his dedication to trolling though

Well...he does have a gift. Now, if we could only turn him towards the light.

I have never used the ignore function.  Mainly because I feel everyone has a right to be heard. Well, that, and some of these folks can be extremely entertaining.

I just want to go on record and say I loathe Hurney and I respect Gettleman.

If he makes a move I disagree with I let it be known(eg:Smitty).

The thing is, I can't find many moves I disagree with.  There are things I would like to see within the roster but without direct hands on knowledge behind the scenes(all-pro only gets you so far), I can't say I could do any thing differently.

that said, I'm happy with this franchise and look forward to many wonderful seasons no matter how hard people try to get me to look back on what was.

I think Dave has been dang good and I was one of those guys who didn't love the hire.  But he has been on point.

it will be interesting to see how the CB thing plays out.  That has potential to be his one blunder....but Norman could get roasted all year and one of our rookies steps up big by late this season.  I think we reasonably have to handle them getting beat up early

Once again, I agree with you. We need to take some bad and hope there's more good by the end of the season..  Kinda like funchess last year

I believe people on both sides need to realize this- Dave gettleman is not perfect. I also believe when he makes a move, some of the supporters go meme happy and the anti-dave crew truly believe they are genuine.

I will ask the anti-dave crew this- Right now would you trade Dave for Marty hurney??

Funny cause it's basically the same team on the whole. Just after the draft only two scouts leftd (promotion, other retired). Same coaches, same president, same owner.... it would be like he never leftd. Dave's leadership compared to hurney is lightyears apart.

For entrainment purposes, say Dave has to to take a leave of absence and good old Richardson brings herniay back form his DJ job. How long til the panthers are up against cap? How does it feels knowing Turner, norwell, kB, ealy, star, and KK all need new contracts? How long before the built up depth at many spots is gone? How would it be after round one, (provided the panthers have their first ) would the draft results be? Hurney was great at the 1st and 9th positions, how would he fare in the 28th and 31th position(which in draft terms is eons away)? Once in cap hell, would hurney find good cheap labor??

Hurney drafted well in the first round. After that, to call it "hit or miss" would be a compliment.

And the trading away of future picks for guys like Armanti Edwards and Everette Brown (plus almost Jimmy Clausen) ugh!

The trades were really what did him in. Went from mediocre to horrible. Can't believe we tried to trade a 1st for Clausen. We'd still be in the basement and this forum would be 80% Cam haters.

I can relate Gettleman to Bill Polian in the sense of Peyton and Cam. Everyone believed Polian was some type of genius, cause he could draft any cab driver and Peyton can get them to contribute. Just last season people were giving Gettleman kudos for assembling the cheapest offense in the NFL, When in reality that was ALL Cam.
