Leonard Johnson is practicing with the Panthers again.

He has starting experience in Tampa Bay and last year in New England. Considering the low quality of the current corner situation, this could be a significant development.

But can he cover Julio Jones?

When we first signed him, i got super hyped, because for some reason, i always confuse him with the much bigger and talented trumaine johnson, lol.  Not taking anything away from him, but from what i remember of him from college, the combine, and the pros, is he reminds me a lot of Captain Munnerlyn.  That being said, Captain-lite is 100x better than what we've been fielding...  i had forgot about him until this report.  So, looking forward to see what he can do.

“I’m full-bore,” Johnson said. “The doctor told me he doesn’t know I’ve been playing with that the last four years. So if I did it those last four years, I can do it with the problem being fixed.

“It just feels amazing, man.

His achilles surgery was to fix a problem he's had since college, not to fix an injured achilles. Hopefully, recovery time is less than usual.

I'm optimistic about this to be completely honest. I know he is coming off injury but his credentials so far don't sound too bad. Can't hurt to give him a try considering where our secondary is currently ranked. Who knows he might surprise some people.

Maybe, just maybe, Bradberry will come back and continue to play well. And Johnson could make us forget about Bene. All of a sudden, we are no longer bottom of the barrel at CB.  We may still need some help, but it would not be the overwhelming need it seems to be at the moment.
