Lol, these are the same men--along with DG--who could barely be bothered to surround Newton with offensive talent. They see time and time again, their franchise QB...Rookie of the Year...MVP...Superstar QB get pressured and 6 years in they have refused to draft or sign FA Olinemen to protect their best player.

Of course, the NFL doesn't care to protect Newton...the men charged most with protecting him continue to march him out there at the beginning of the season with subpar talent on the Oline...why should the NFL care if the Panthers don't?

JR is one of the most influential owners in the league. Cam is the face of his franchise and he, at the absolute minimum, needs to get Goodell on the phone to straighten some of these calls out. Cam understands the risks and what protections he is giving up when he tucks the ball to run, but standing in the pocket and taking the exact hit that tore Tom Brady's and Carson Palmer's ACL, and NOT having it flagged is absolutely despicable.

I would be very surprised if there weren't conversations taking place behind the scenes and/or if the organization wasn't going to bat in any way, shape, or form through non-public channels. However, whatever they're doing (I'm again making an optimistic assumption) is clearly not making a difference and I do agree that some outward and public support would be welcome.

What blows my mind, if you read the comments of ppl on the ESPN article of Cam's reaction, half of them are concerned more about this suit and hat he is wearing as to the hit. I just can't fathom how some ppl's dis-regard for someone else's health leads them to criticize that person's sense of style more than their general overall well being. SMDH Sometimes I really do miss the military and at least it's sense of one team one f****** fight mentality.

Ron has stated many times he has talked to the league about hits Cam takes. I don't know what all you people expect from him. There really isn't much more he can do besides make the situation worse

Do it publicity. Call them all out. Take the fines, and tell the press about the fines me and the organization received for protecting our QB for the lack of protection the rules provide for every other QB.

    • Why don't we just say they can shove the late round draft picks up their ass? If they want a player they will be starting at WR in Week 1, I want a MLB in return that we can start Week 1. Starter for a Starter Not Starter for a draft pick we'll be debating whether or not they should make the final 53 man roster in 2026.
    • Why?   No. This isn't a situation of a player we want to trade because we have no use for them.  He's our starting slot WR, our leader of the young WR room, Bryce's safety option the last 2 years who he has good chemistry with. If the Vikings didn't run into WR trouble, we'd never have been even considering trading him, so why in the world should we give him up for fair market value in a vacuum for Thielen and disregard what losing him off our roster will do for us this year? A 5th round pick in 2026 is a negligible draft pick, especially with this season being so make or break for Bryce and Canales.
    • The Vikings acquiring all these late round picks has me feeling like we're about to see another CMC situation play out here. Trade a player we really like for the equivalent of what we want for them on the draft pick chart, but because of a bunch of late round picks instead of the one pick value we actually want. Which will do the same thing in the end, nothing, because 6th and 7th round picks rarely work out to begin with, or we're just going to use them to move up 10 picks in the 3rd or 4th round to take another DJ Johnson
