Is Leonard Johnson the answer at nickel?

Had a solid game yesterday. 7 combined tackles, a crucial 2pt conversion defended. Even a sack.

Honestly, he looked better yesterday than any nickel last year including Bene and FInnegan.

What say you?

He looked pretty damn good yesterday.  Played very well, and that "spark" he brought, that everyone's been mentioning?  Yeah, we've missed that in our secondary.  It takes people up a notch.  How he plays the game is pretty infectious.

I would have to agree with you Jeremy. Johnson showed great emotion and great play yesterday.  He brought a fiery attitude yesterday that I think transitioned through the rest of the defense yesterday.  First time since probably the 49er game I remember seeing that much emotion and attitude.  he did very well yesterday.

    • I don’t want to see another high pick put into WR or offense that isn’t OL or QB. At least not again it would make something like 5 straight years, we are at 4 straight years with 1sts and 2nds used on the position now. Too much to have one player left from all that. So he gets another go at it afaic.  If they can bring in someone to compete with him that is undrafted, a FA on a prove it deal, some cheaper route, go for it.
    • Because Bryce can’t throw a true deep ball.
    • The original hope was that he was just raw, and with some coaching he could blossom into a big time playmaker. Turns out he’s not just raw, he’s got no fundamentals or mentals of any kind really. You keep him as long as he’s cheap and try your best to coach him up no matter how futile it may seem.  When the time comes you cut him loose.
