So just how much of a role did "pressure" actually play?

Cliche as hell...but we're always going to look back at this season as the "missed opportunities" season.  When we're on, we're still damn good (and had a lot of injuries).  We've gotten our ass handed to us some this year...but as weak as the NFL as a whole is (IMO), a 6 seed could've done wonders for us this year.

We played one of our best games last night. I thought for sure I was watching the 2015 team. I do think they hit the panic button and started pressing early. Everybody looked settled, they were having fun. Hopefully this carries over into Saturday when we play Atlanta.

guaranteed.  Carolina owes Atlanta a christmas present from last year.

Was this team just too young to handle the increased pressure and expectations of the season?

Was it just me. or did the entire team just seem to be much lighter last night. Looked like they were having fun again. Had not seen that type of vibe since preseason.

I've been afraid to say it on here...we are not as bad as the media would make it out to be.

Pass rush came alive.

DB's are settling in.

We are learning to call plays behind a patchwork O Line.

We aren't forcing the ball to KB at the expense of Ginn, Philly, etc.

There's a lot going on out there right now, but one of the more important....possibly some of the guys are remembering how hard it is to win in the NFL, when everything came somewhat easily last year.

I really don't believe it was pressure, as much as it was a lack of experience and chemistry earlier in the year. The defensive backfield pretty much was just lost, and this had repercussions for the entire defense. Offensively, the loss of Oher and getting back on track fuged up the line for a couple of weeks, Kelvin has been trying to get in sync all year, and Cam had to remember that there are receivers other than Benjamin.  Chemistry in team sports is real.

We got everyone's best game at the beginning of the season. Everyone was hyped up to play us. Losing vets in the secondary and lackluster effort from the front four along with bad bounces cost us the season quickly. Our oline quickly went from bad to worse during that time and we still can't keep a pocket around Cam.

When you have a target on your back the size of 15-1, you better bring your A game every Sunday, and we were unable to.

Oh yeah and the offensive playcalling is about as dynamic as the color gray.

Now that teams are starting to look past us a little, we're putting them on their heels and dominating them.

Or the Skins and Chargers just really suck.

This.

You laugh, dance, and take pictures while supremely stomping your enemies CAN come back to bite you....and it did.

We were all smiles, but forgot that there are grown ass men on the other side that have Igo and pride as well.

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
