Devin Funchess

Looking back at the last 2 seasons, Fun-Fun has been under performing for the investment we made. I believe the main reason is that he does not provide any unique skill sets to set him apart from Olsen & KB. While he has size he doesn't play big, his speed & short area movement is average and his route running ability is poor. Panthers  have enough big body WRs , what we are lacking is a slot WR.

I would be willing to trade Funchess for a 3rd or 4th rd pick. Would you?

No I personally don't think he is utilized well enough to have a true gage on his skill set and he's still super young.....

I think Funchess displays a lot of athleticism. We just don't feature him and he's still pretty inexperienced. He also isn't Cams main target.

No team in the NFL would trade a 3rd for Funchess. He's not a outside receiver

I want to see him one more year before I ship him off. He made some clutch catches in 15, when Cam had time to throw the ball. Get Cam's OL straight and we will see which WRs are worth keeping. In the mean time, we have to get a quick, speedy WR (ala NE), who can get open quicker than our big WRs.

He's 22 years old. What were you doing at that age? If the NFL 'prime' year is roughly 26 he has 3 more season before he gets there. Too soon to tell

I have no problem seeing him go for someone who is faster and can stretch the field.

If we could get a 3rd round pick for him, I'd  make that trade in a heartbeat. Problem is, no team would offer us a 3rd. All we could get is probably a conditional 7th rounder or something along those lines. Considering that, we might as well hang onto him and see if he can develop and capitalize on his potential.

Ideally he is a solid #3 WR on the outside.  I think he has been pretty good but the lack of speed means he'll always be a posession guy.

Personally, I don't think Devin Funchess is going to pan out. He just isn't producing. Brandon LaFell, for all the hate he received from Panther fans, produced more receiving and was a great blocker. If LaFell wasn't good enough in the eyes of many fans then I don't understand what they see in Funchess, why his potential is lauded.

You realize he has a high ceiling, and really young.

If he can be more than just a "camp all-star" he'll be good. Like really good.

How about we trade Shula for a 3rd round pick and bring in an OC that knows how to use Funch and KB properly.

Last year no one was. Our scheme was a cluster fug.

I can recall quite a few times this year Funchess would be wide open and Cam never even looked his way. He was wide open on the TD pass to Benjamin in Oakland (his defender fell down so he was open immediately).
