Seahawks sign Blair Walsh (Panthers related)

Now the Seahawks could be doing this just as insurance in case Hauschka leaves. Let's say they don't plan on bringing Hauschka back, this is someone we should really consider bringing in. 

Yes Hauschka was brutal at converts this season. He missed 6 of 35 extra points this past season and 4 of 44 last season. Gano on the other hand has missed 3 in each of the past 2 season.

Hauschka's FG percentages have always been solid though. Gano's percentages are the ones in brackets.

2013: 94.3% (88.9)

2014: 83.8% (82.9)

2015: 93.5% (83.3)

2016: 89.2% (78.9)

Gano only has 1 year remaining on his contract. I believe we can save a decent chunk of money if we cut him. I for one have never trusted Gano, Hauschka has had his struggles with the extra point but has been great otherwise...

Blair Walsh....he lost it mentally. He was a stud kicker. That missed kick against Seattle doomed him. I can see him fixing his flaws and getting back to knocking 50 yarders again.

Hauschka is markedly better at FGs, so it would be an upgrade, with likely a little upgrade in money. That said, I hate having that extra uptight feeling when Gano kicks a FG, so I really can't imagine having the same feeling on what should be a routine extra point.

I swear that there was some sort of bug that particularly affected every kicker this year. The Arizona Seattle Game 1 particularly sticks out in this dilemma.

I just think everyone had some issues this year with kicking. Or it could just be me.

I'm all for bringing in a kicker to compete with Gano, he did miss some crucial kicks last year. But maybe they should look at younger, cheaper alternatives instead of basically the same kicker with the same issues.

I believe a change of scenery would benefit Hauschka greatly. He'd be an upgrade at the position plus, he's an NC State guy.

Cutting GaNO is more important to the life of the Panthers than oxygen.

This season is the first reasonable one that Gano could go. I say look for an undrafted free agent (Matt Davis from UNC Pembroke for example) and let him try to take the job.

I'd be OK with drafting a good kicker in the 6th or 7th and moving on from gg. Not
Sure how good of a kicker might be available.

We need to move on from Gano. Anyone have any info about Zane Gonzalez from ASU? Looks pretty solid.
