DG a bad drafter? Fox sports says otherwise.

The only way to accurately assess that Gettleman is a bad drafter based on the number system that you have chosen to use would be to compare it to the other 31 teams using the same number system for each of their drafts. However, since that would have taken actual time and effort, one would get the impression that you put this together in 20 minutes or less just to state your disdain for his job performance, all the while claiming that it was from FoxSports.

Dude has put together teams that have won division titles 3-4 years, a conference title and a Super Bowl appearance where his players said "fug it let's collectively poo the bed".

Lets add to that how we went from cap hell to more buying power than we've had since 2010.

None of that speaks to drafting but it's part of the picture.

Now, he took an area of weakness and turned it into a strength along the Dline thru the draft.  An overwhelming hit in the secondary and plugged good rookies who fit the coaches mold thru the draft.  He got a good backup to our star MLB thru the draft.  He bolstered the interior of our offensive line thru the draft and 1 UDFA.  He gave our MVP QB weapons on the outside thru the draft(utilization is not his area).

so what am I missing?

oh yeah he cut Smitty and DWill.

We're calling Boston a hit while the majority of this forum is filled with threads debating who we should draft to replace him?

TBH, the hardest thing was to grade Bene a miss... hated doing that.

I graded Boston a hit because he was a late pick and a starter.

Again, admittedly, this was done in 20 min and is a flawed system.

But man... this time last year we figured we were ok at CB because of "big play Bene"

Figured 1 2nd day CB pick could right the ship... and it sorta did... but it took a while.

Williams has spent his opportunities(to come in and beco.e a starter) by playing a couple games and going to IR. He is reminding me a lot of Solitui... or however you spell his effing name

Well I personally think he's great and a huge upgrade over Remmers.

Williams was PFF's best rookie tackle after the preseason prior to Williams injury. He still is recovering but he has played well.

He shut down Vic Beasley both times he played Atlanta; Remmers gets beat by him in 2015.

He's played soundly with Trai Turner and they both look like a force. I'd be hard pressed to call him a miss especially with him coming back from being hurt.

Coaches felt the same about Amini..

I hope you are right, though. I truly do.

Nobody...

This was done in a vacuum.

Let's see your breakdown.

I'm sorry, what? I'm arguing that Gettleman has been a great evaluator of talent and has had a lot of success in the draft. My original comment was at those who nit pick over every single player ever drafted.
