I'll take shitty local sports talk over nationally syndicated stuff any day. I am from the Carolina's and I want to hear about the Hornets, Panthers, Canes and local university's. I'll put up with average hosts as long as I'm getting info on my teams.

One difference I can tell you from sports radio I used to hear in Ohio and here:

The hosts in Ohio were absolute, unapologetic homers. They didn't give a flaming s--t about being objective or fair to anybody else. If you didn't cheer for the home team then screw you. And they sure as hell wouldn't allow someone who cheered for anyone else to have an on air show or run anything at the station.

That's what I expected here too, but...

I lived in Philly for 3 years and it was 100% the same.

That is my biggest gripe with FNZ. Too many "I'm not a Panther fan but..." callers get air time and traditionally too many hosts that ride the jocks of other teams. At least now with Mac, Frank, and Kroeger there are 3 hosts during the day that actually give a damn about the home teams. All I want is passionate sports talk about my home teams. Every other team outside of this market can suck it. You want to talk Steelers? Sorry, call a station in Pittsburgh.

There is some homerism here also. Like Kroeger always apologetic with the Hornets and Panthers. NY sports radio is the complete opposite. All they do is bash the local teams.

This is a joke, right?  This is a practical joke, right?

Nathan Conley?  Never heard of 'm.

I heard of Nathan's hotdogs.  I've heard of Nathan Drake from the video games.  I've heard of Mike Conley Jr. of the Grizzlies.  I've even heard of Drake the Canadian rapper.

    • Rico is 0%. I think we would really like to have Mays back but we have a value in mind and aren't willing to overspend. I think someone probably will so I think the odds are pretty low but not zero.
    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
