Taking it with a grain of salt, as Voth pretty much alluded to Dorsey and/or Shula getting axed and we saw how that played out.

Agreed since when did Voth become a news breaker. I thought he was unplugging for a while, but it seems like he's tweeting news as much as ever.

I think he "unplugged" doing articles everyday, but he said he'll make stuff on some panthers news n stuff.

Only time I take anyones words for true is if they say they heard info from a source.

I am totally ok with letting him walk. In order to keep him even as depth, you'd have to be comfortable that you are one injury away from him starting again. Even though we have managed to throw out worst than him somehow does not make him any better than he is. Just means Gettleman has failed to properly address the position. I'm not going to bash Gettleman anymore than I already have on the issue, as all signs so far point to him calming his ego down or whatever the hell it was that made him feel like Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, Remmers, Etc. are acceptable starting tackle's these last 4 years.

We seem to favor Williams as the # 1 candidate to start at RT and it's doubtful anyone in the organization will feel like its a big blow if we don't keep  Remmers as a backup.

This is also a 2 way street, as he does have starting experience and will likely want  more money than he got as an undrafted rookie. So let him walk and get overpaid by someone else who may feel their offensive blocking scheme would suit him better than ours does.

At this point he's just an average backup RT.  Even in a weak class that lacks elite talent, surely we can find someone better than him in the middle to late rounds of the draft, if we don't actually address it before hand in Free Agency.

I thought bill was ending the BBR coverage?? Since he stated that, he keeps operating. Not complaining, just odd.

That said, I've heard the opposite. Panthers want remmers back, but they will not overpay. I bet his agent is looking at $$$$$$ and not the opportunity panthers have him.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
