Does anyone know if two brothers have ever played together on the same modern day NFL line?

The only legitimate brothers I can think of are the Matthews Brothers

The Matthews Brothers were big time players in the 80's (Clay's dad and uncle) I believe one was with Cleveland and the other with the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Titans but I don't think they ever played together.

I'm happy with this.  Would still love to get cam robinson in the draft somehow, but for now.. this works.  3 year deal most likely..  doesnt disturb the locker room, has been a pro bowler in the past..  This is a good move.  Idgaf if we over spent..  this HAD to happen.

just lol at David Newton giving it a grade of "A" for us signing Matt Kalil. When in reality no one knows how well he will perform. I wouldn't grade the signing until he's had some games played. He's a huge unknown or if you have to make a prediction it would probably be negative until he proves he can return to his rookie year level performance levels. All anyone can say right now is that it makes them more hopeful for the future until we see him perform on the field.

Long time lurker of many years, some of yall finally made me crack on this one. Joined up to say you cannot look at this signing in a vacuum. You have to look at what we have on our roster for LT currently(Hint: It's NOTHING) and also what is out there in FA/Draft(Limited), and also what the going rate is for a decent starting LT(See Whitworth contract). I'll wait to see what we got him for, but if it's 10-11 million bucks he is going to be good value(Health is a concern of course). When you have other teams picking up guys like Remmers/Bell/ Etc you know it's rough out there. FINALLY our front office is taking a proactive(but reasonable) approach to FA and targeting our weak spots early. Not to mention the added bit of flexibility we just grabbed in the draft, and the pressure it takes off having to make a stupid move late when we have nothing at LT.

Panther fans should rally around this move, honestly.... how cool will it be to have two Kalils here? I wish him nothing but good health, if he has that...look out.

great signing. this one was destiny.

to the people bitching about this signing: do you even know what you're bitching about? without looking up other peoples comments on his game, do you actually know what his strengths and weaknesses are? have you watched the tape? or do you just like to follow what you hear and bitch about everything?

because Kalil has actually been a good LT in this league. injuries have been his issue.

why don't you have a mind of your own?

Well, I watched him get abused in just about every game I've watched MIN play since his rookie year. There are websites devoted to it. Find me anything showing him as even average since 2012. If it's injuries, why are we paying 10M/yr for the hope of a return to health AND skills which haven't been seen in 5 years. There's my argument. Why is Kalis a better option than Whitworth, Beachum , Okung, Reiff or even Clady?

I see this as similar and I'm reacting to this similar to the Oher move when it happened. The difference is that it's probably going to be involving a lot more money. Hopefully he can get past his injury issues and get back to his old form, but this is a risky move for sure. But, let's be realistic, every big money FA is a risky move.

Hoping for the best here. One thing is for sure, we haven't had an OT with his pure raw talent since Gross retired and we have to at least be excited about that.

    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
