Don't call it a farewell tour for Pep

He was our big rookie during my first full year as a fan. I was deployed when he left so I missed out on a lot of the emotions that went with it...good and bad...so I never really had a salty opinion of him leaving. But him coming back and seemingly matured and excited? I love it.

Pep honestly had a great cast of characters around him in Chicago, and it obviously turned out well doing what he did. I'm glad to see him back in black and blue though. I think he'll bring what Jared Allen and Peanut brought in 2015.

What really concerns me are expectations. Let's be real it's been 7 years since we have watched Pep play on a regular basis. I still have vivid memories of crazy athletic interceptions, strip sacks and just amazing plays that nobody else could possibly make.

But the problem is that we have a different team now and we will be seeing a 37 yr old Pep.

What I am hoping for is:

1. Some impact plays at key moments

2. Maybe 6-8 sacks would be tremendous

3. Fans not to call him lazy when we can't be the Pep that he was 7 yrs ago

    • Please finish this thing off. The rags look like they quit on the ice. Can’t give them any chance
    • We're about 15th/16th overall in terms of player age and only have 11 players over the age of 29...Not too bad and I was more talking about this incarnation of the team is young. Canales is only 2 years in as a HC and we have young talent to build around. Regardless of what happens with Bryce you can't tell me a team learns how to win by losing a poo ton of games every year. Need to be happy we are currently not a basement dweller at this point in the season like we have been for the last 7 seasons. Even the year we went 7-10 we were 2-7 at this point. We just knocked off the #1 team in the NFC and have a winning record after the first 8 weeks for the first time in over 7 NFL seasons. The team deserves at least a little bit of fan support after having turned a very small corner.
