Some notes from my source

Obviously this is for those who believe what I say, this is general NFL stuff as he does not work for the Panthers, here is some things he has put in my ear. This comes with the rumor I posted about two weeks ago about the Panthers looking to trade up.

-Pat Mahones is a lock in the first round
-OJ Howard is a top 15 pick as most teams have him as a top 10 player in the draft
-Some teams have Jamal Adams #1 on the big board, all teams have him ranked in the top 2.
-Jon Allen will most likely fall out of the top 5 and may even drop all the way to 15 range
-Teez Tabor will fall out of the 1st round and possibly out of the 2nd

Updating:
Carolina either trades up for a Fournette (Unless he falls obviously) or takes McCaffrey at 8
Two maybe three qbs in the top 10
Reuben Foster will still be a top 20 pick
Malik Hooker falls to teens
Dalvin Cook falls to 20's
Davis Webb goes ahead of Kizer
Jags take Watson or Fournette
Chiefs trade up for QB

If Allen is on the board when we pick and fournette isn't, there is no reason we shouldn't pick him assuming his health checks out. This is just like the Star scenario. His tape is too good and too many teams are going to over think it. We'd get a top 3 talent at 8.

Idunno about Peppers before Hooker... unless they both go in the teens. I actually think Peppers may fall out of the 1st. However, he'd probably be the first pick in the second. IMO, John Jones is creeping.

Also, Cam Robinson will not get out of the first ... bottom first perhaps.

I don't think Peppers falls out of the first after his combine. His ability in the nickel, run support and on special teams is more that enough to be a first rounder.

I was on a Jets board trolling around and a lot of them wanted Mahones at 6!  Also, the more I see of him the more I think Peppers will be a star.  Too talented and awesome competitor.  Love his attitude, he eats and sleeps football.

Idunno, he just reminds me of Shaq Thompson without the return game. Although, I love Shaq, if we hadn't picked him he may have gone in the second. That being said, this is a different year and a deeper draft. I guess you never know though. It only takes one team.

I like Peppers, but just can't see him going before Hooker. Every year a hand full of prospects sneak into the first and a handfull drop into the second.

-Jabrill Peppers may leapfrog Hooker in the draft, if not, the media is still underrating him, he is a top 15 pick
-Cam Robinson will likely fall out of the first as teams are not sure where to place him due to inconsistent tape and body factors
-Teez Tabor will fall out of the 1st round and possibly out of the 2nd

What did your source say about the trade up...I can't find the thread you posted it in

    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a center who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
    • Will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. The Boston game seemed to open the flood gates of media attention. And it’s not just that they’re playing well, in some instances they are getting compared with all time greats. This is still a young team, and it would be easy for an immature team to lose some focus, buy into their own hype, and think they can coast bit. The Heat are a middle of the road team without their leading scorer. There is no big dragon to slay, no big statement to make. I think we’ll learn a lot tonight: are they young but mature, or do they still have a ways to go mentally?
    • Panthers North for the win. Good luck to him. Great guy, hated to see him leave here, but he's about to work with the best QB he's ever worked with (at least on a regular basis).
