Some things I took away from that article.

- IF I was a betting man I would guess the team that called them for a trade was the Broncos or Texans.

- If Howard was ranked so high I wonder why the FO didn't consider trading back into the low teens to get him. Based on the fact that they were doing interviews at that time they appeared to never even considered the idea.

- Our GM didn't know what San Diego's needs were? I guess when you have that many employees under you its ok let others get that info but you still didn't know it until they were on the clock?

Seriously? How could you possibly guarantee that CMC would have been there in the teens? How do you know that call for a trade wasn't a team who wanted to trade up for CMC? It's real easy to say these things in hindsight when you have no idea how high other teams had him on their boards.

Disregard my other reply to this post. I misread you.

"He's a great football player. Has Luke Kuechlyicon-article-link.gif's DNA. Just an overall great fit," Beane says.

"He's a touchdown waiting to happen," says Skipper, the soft-spoken, longtime running backs coach.

"Off-the-charts instincts," says Shula, who is entering his fifth season coordinating the offense.

Says Rivera: "He's perfect for our offense."

"You and Cam are going to be a great combination."

These career football players/coaches/scouts/GM's need a good talking to by the expert Madden GM's of the Carolina Huddle.

I've been saying for months that a lot of people were so caught up in the Fournette vs Thomas vs Adams discussion that there was a good chance none of them would be there and our pick would actually be from that next group of players such as McCaffrey and Howard.

Of those three I felt like Fournette had the best chance of being there when we picked but Jacksonville kind of ruined that for us, which a lot of people thought could happen.  I'm just glad we didn't do something stupid and trade up for him.

I liked how Shula and Rivera said he was a great fit for what we want to do. Either he fits with what we already do or will fit with what we are going to do. So stop with all the we don't know how to use him or he doesn't fit our system. Your head coach, GM and OC says he fits great and know exactly how to use him

    • Wide Receiver: Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers – 85.3 One of the more shocking developments of the 2025 NFL season has been the Carolina Panthers’ ascension to the top of the NFC South, which they achieved with Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. Perhaps nobody has made a bigger difference than former eighth overall pick Tetairoa McMillan, who continued to be a steady presence in the Panthers’ offense. McMillan caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the win Tight End: Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers – 91.1 Evans only saw the field for 16 snaps, but he was efficient in his limited playing time. He caught all three of his targets for 23 yards on just six receiving snaps while also grading well in pass protection (72.2 grade) and as a run-blocker (68.4) Edge Defender: Nic Scourton, Carolina Panthers – 77.9 The former second-rounder out of Texas A&M has been a force along the Panthers’ defensive line, and he was a key contributor in Carolina’s huge win over the Buccaneers. Scourton recorded two stops as a run-defender and added another while in coverage. Scourton also tallied his sixth sack of the year while contributing another pressure to the mix Safety: Lathan Ransom, Carolina Panthers – 75.7 Another Carolina Panther on this week’s list, Ransom has typically been stronger in run defense — he carries an 85.2 grade in that field on the season. But Sunday against the Buccaneers was his best day in coverage. Ransom intercepted his only target, which wound up being the game-winner that put the Panthers in the driver’s seat in the NFC South
