Rotoworld: Stewart to outcarry a punt/kick returner

He once was, but those days are sadly behind us. CAP actually had a slightly higher YPC average in the games he filled in for Stew and the staff doesn't even deem him worthy of a jersey on game day unless Stew can't go. Stew is a lot better in pass protection, but his days as a dominant runner are likely past.

I think Stewart can still ball. His top speed isnt there anymore but his ability to break tackles is practically unmatched in the NFL.  That said I'm glad we have CMC to take the load off.

A wrecking ball would have a hard time averaging 3.8 ypc behind that line. Look deeper and you'll realize he's a great back and we're fortunate to have him.

Bullsh*t. Stewart is a great power back but he's slower than molasses. He can't get around the edge anymore. But homer eyes see what they want

"While Stewart out-carrying McCaffrey would be a surprise"

"While Williams out-carrying Stewart would be a surprise"

it wasn't a surprise when this happened in Stews rookie year.  Stew was a 1st rounder too.

Stewart can average 3.8 ypc and Rivera will still trot him out there

Ignorance is bliss.

Every time I read a post mentioning his YPC without providing context (made miss tackles, hits behind the line of scrimmage, etc.) I cringe.

He was 25 when we drafted him. Now he's 27. Born in 1990, Wikipedia hasn't updated his info for some reason.

He was an old rookie, and an extremely old rookie RB.

To play Devil's advocate he's hardly played. Turning 27/28 doesn't suddenly make him shittier when he hasn't had many touches. That said CAP isn't the talent that Stewart is, was, or ever really be.

I agree with you 100%. He was only ever drafted for depth, not to be the heir apparent like so many around here thought for some reason.

    • every team having an international appearance every year is almost guaranteed right now.  Panthers will be the Home team in Germany once every four years in the current rotation (2028 being next). List of home game markets: Argentina: Dolphins Australia: Raiders, Rams, Eagles, Seahawks Austria: Lions, Colts, Chiefs, Pats, Seahawks, Bucs Brazil: Lions, Dolphons, Pats, Eagles Canada: Bills, Bengals, Cards, Lions, Vikings, Seahawks China: Rams Colombia: Dolphins France: Saints Germany: Falcons, Pathers, Lions, Packers, Colts, Chiefs, Pats, Giants, Steelers, Seahawks, Bucs Ghana: Eagles Greece: Chargers Ireland: Packers, Jags, Chiefs, Jets, Steelers, Titans Japan: Rams Mexico: Cards, Cowboys, Broncos, Texans, Chiefs, Raisers, Rams, Dolphons, Steelers, 49ers New Zealand: Raiders, Rams, Eagles, Seahawks Nigeria: Browns South Korea: Rams Spain: Bears, Chiefs, Dolphins Switzerland: Lions, Colts, Chiefs, Pats, Seahawks, Bucs UAB: Rams, 49ers, Commanders UK: Ravens, Bears, Packers, Jags, Chiefs, Dolphins, Vikings, Jets, 49ers So if we're *not* the home team, then we should keep an eye out on our road trip schedule for any of these teams and assigned home countries for potential matchups Example:  if we're playing the Packers as a road trip, there's a chance that the NFL would make us play in Ireland or the UK for that matchup to align with GB's home marketing country
    • He did say he was likely to take a good OC spot over a bad HC spot. A little surprised he didn't go Lions. That's an insane offense to have your hands on.
