Cam Newton Calls Out NFL Officials Over Lack Of Calls On $100,000 Pyramid

With the NFL on a head-hunting campaign against Cam Newton, nothing much was done over the excessive amount of hits to Cam's head. With officials unable to accept that a massive, running QB should get the same calls as any other QB, Cam was tortured week after week, agonizing as his head turned into a defender's tackling dummy every Sunday.

Cam Newton decided to call them out this weekend. On ABC's $100,000 Pyramid, Cam Newton joked about how the NFL never gives him any calls:

Calling them out for what it is. Thoughts?

i really don't think he's helping his cause. the more he calls out the refs, the more it's going to backfire this season

I've never understood this line of thought.

So, if a person feels slighted or wronged, the best course of action is to keep quiet or the offending party may really turn up the heat on you?

Cam has a legitimate grievance.  His livelihood, health and future are in jeopardy.

He used all the proper channels and look what that got him.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
