Apparently the Panthers tried to trade up to 2 to draft Fournette

This story would be contradictory to the SI piece that came out. 

Supposedly, Pace made the only offer worth a call back, and the two teams were able to come to terms on an unofficial deal well before SF was on the clock (like early afternoon draft day) with the one condition being the 49ers could reject the deal if somebody blew them away with a last minute offer, which no one did.

Those types of talks happen all the time on draft day-that's why many teams take the whole time they're on the clock.

Without knowing more than this, you have no idea if Gettleman made a quick call to see if there was a cheap deal for moving up or if he was offering a package with Cam and Kuechly to move up. That's  hyperbole by the way.

Yeah, no surprise Fournette was higher than CMC on our board. What team didn't have Fournette as the number one RB?

Also no surprise Gettleman at least made some type of offer considering all the picks he had to use.

We probably explored the option but I HIGHLY doubt we offered anything worthwhile. 

I would bet 8 and a our late second rounder was our final offer

Man, if this would've happened, I would've gave Dave mad props on that trade.  He's wayyyyyyyyyy better than Christian McProbablygoingtobeabust.  Fournette would've been a dream come true.
