Carolina Panthers sign another center

The Panthers also made an addition, signing center Greg Van Roten, who has previously been with the Packers and Seahawks in addition to Toronto in the Canadian Football League. Van Roten was most recently with the Jaguars before being released in May.

Makes me wonder exactly how many reps Kalil will be taking in camp. Probably not many.

Center creeping up this team's needs going forward the next couple seasons it seems. I don't need to see Kalil in pre season. Get him as healthy as he can be to go handle business in San Francisco week 1.

I think Larsen has done real well

Larsen did well in Kalil's stead last season

Tyler Larson filled in nicely during the season. He shouldnt be the guy going forward but proved to be a better backup center than Gradkowski.

The line played much better when Larsen was in over Gradkowski, but in Gradkowski's defense he battled injury all year even before Kalil got hurt.

I'd still rather take a look at Larsen as the long term back-up moving forward, but that's just me.

Minimizing his snaps is a good idead but he needs to play in couple of pre-season games. Getting live game reps is a  necessaity in order to be ready for week 1, otherwise there will a lot more in game errors.

As already stated, with Kalil still in rehab, you've gotta have a little extra depth there so you don't wear out the actual back up in camp and preseason.  Gotta imagine we won't see much from Ryan Kalil until reg season.  You'd like to see some limited activity in camp, but no need to rush the veteran back.  He's quietly one of the most important players on the team.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
