Good info from Joe P.

“There’s no reason to (panic). We’re just listening to what the doctors and trainers say. They’re optimistic, as long as we don’t have a setback, which we don’t anticipate,” Rivera said after Sunday’s final practice in Spartanburg."

Sounds like we won't see Cam at all this preseason, which makes me worry even more.

I've been thinking about this.

A great deal of people have focused on Cam's footwork breaking down and causing bad throws.
This off season and most of training camp all Cam is working on is footwork and mechanics.

This may end up being a blessing in disguise.

Plus he is throwing, which means that his arm is structurally sound, and it sounds more like making sure his range of movement isn't getting restricted by soreness and developing bad throwing habits to protect his shoulder.   Even if he takes some off of his passes Cam has the arm strength to spare.

Still feeling pretty good about Cam.  Not as good as if there were no restrictions, but comfortable that there isn't somthing crazy going on behind the scenes.

I think Cam just tried to do too much in those first couple of practices and they had to reign him in a little bit. He had no business trying to throw 30-40yd passes right off the bat. In fact, RR has pretty much said just that. The fact that they only let him throw in the red zone yesterday pretty much confirms that because it forces him to keep his throws short.

Man, if he somehow fixes his damn footwork and mechanics in one offseason, that'll be incredible.

Where was the concern in week 17 last year?  All time dumb.

Saints in week 3.  DO NOT RISK ANYTHING MORE long term if he's not 100% before then.

And watch us lose the first 2 games when DA starts throwing picks in the endzone

    • Ohio State no. 8 won it all last year.  No. 6 Penn State and no. 7 Notre Dame advanced to the semi-final. This year no. 7 Ole Miss is going to win it all.
    • agreed.  Lack of games/opportunity makes him a non-factor in OROTY talk.  He is just now getting the stage where there is legit film on him.  Takes awhile to really see how guys react to all the different scenarios and to find the real weak spots on a QB's play in an O.
    • Oh boy how the tables have turned...the passion and extent at which you defend Shough would make even the staunchest Bryce fanboys blush.  The bold part is especially straight from their playbook.  Even if someone here were to withhold giving Shough props, it's pretty understandable as a Panthers fan.  What's quite odd is becoming the biggest stan of our most hated rival's starting QB.  I don't think even Saints fans drool over him this hard. For the record I think this talk about "stans" and "fanboys" is cringe AF and I'm admittedly being rather hyperbolic because this is exactly the kind of discourse and language you personally love to engage in and it's fun to play in the mud from time to time.  There is absolutely no world where you do not meet your own criteria of a "Super Stan" for Shough with how loosely you apply that label to people for Bryce in here.  You're like the Final Boss of Super Stans.
