  1. 1. Who would you rather have if we can't keep both?

Is this really in question?  Dude makes one big play and he's just as good as bird.

He has been pretty solid when given the opportunity. His returns are superior to Byrd's.

The fact is, Byrd simply feasted on a Texans CB who played horrific defense.

Not that I don't like Byrd, but I suspect that if Clay got equal opportunities, he would have made more happen.

Really tough call.  I'd like to keep both somehow, even if that means the PS for one.  I voted Clay as I think he may have higher upside than Byrd.

It's going to be very tough to keep 6 WR with our thinness at CB, S & DT.  Injuries at those positions may mean we carry 6 CBs or 5 DTs...

My final projection still had KB, Funch, Samuel, Shepard & Byrd as the top 5 receivers.  I wonder now though whether Clay is eligible for PS, and if he is, whether he'd be safe there.  I *think* Byrd might be safe on PS, but hard to say given that he scored several TDs (3?) in preseason.  So this could influence team to keep Clay and PS Byrd.

I expect Bersin to be either IRed, or cut and not picked up by another team, in which case, we will keep him on speed dial in case of injuries... and/or maybe hire him as some kind of assistant coach.

I like them both. I say go 6wrs. We need speed which both provide. If KB goes down does anyone think Funchess can be the man... I hate that we drafted him so high..so he will be kept.. To me it should be between whether we keep Shephard, bersin or Funchess but funchess  will be kept because of draft place and youth.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
