You guys are seriously WR starved. It'll be like the fappening around here if y'all ever get a Julio type.

You must not be paying attention on here. Seems like half of the Huddle thinks a guy has to be Julio or better to be a legit starting caliber NFL WR. Having Smitty for years has really put some unrealistic expectations on WRs amongst this fan base. Being in the same division with guys like Julio and Jackson don't do anything to help.

Gettleman will?

Of course not. But he's not here anymore, is he? Hurney made a mess, Gettleman fixed it. Gettleman made his own mess, who is going to fix it? Hurney can't be the long term solution.

I know you're a hurney lover but if you think he's the answer, you're insane

We drafted Samuel and I can't recall sending him downfield once this season.

Samuel isn't a deep threat, maybe he can develop into one later on but he isn't at this point.

Calling him a deep threat is like calling Tavon Austin a deep threat

Our best WR over the last 2 years....isn't here.  It matters.  It mattered the first time he left.  We admitted it.  We brought him back.

We are a deep play offense with no deep threat.  It never makes sense but we keep repeating this pattern over and over.

Ginn isn't great.  He fit here though.   He fit the need our scheme requires.

And I realize we have guys like Byrd who can run fast.  Either play him and if he can't hang with the starters go get someone that can.  Tired of the same patterns repeating.

Right now, Cam couldn't hit a barn 15 yards out and on an out pattern. Couple that with Ginn's propensity for drops and well...

Let's get the QB healed up and dialed back in before we start bemoaning the loss of Ted Ginn, Jr.

I didn't call him a deep threat. I was just saying if we are not going to play Byrd and he is the only receiver with speed on the field you need to at least use him as a decoy.

This is infuriating.

He is a rookie.  Takes time.  I'm talking about the 2017 season.  Unfair to fault Samuel for the void this year.

He has a lot to learn.  He could steal Ginn's end around but unfair to think he could step in and take the top of NFL defenses right away

I don't blame Samuel. I blame Shula and Ron. Anyone who honestly says they trust either's talent evaluation is a gd liar.

We have exactly what we need.  Defenses are playing the deep pass and giving up the underneath routes.  Cam is trying to force it deep and ignoring the underneath receivers, which by the way are almost always open.

These teams know Cam likes ro theow deep and the underneath stuff he ignores. Rhey want him to dink and dunk rhat is why we should do more roll outs and let Cam throw on the run ..somebody will leave their wr to hit Cam just like they do with russell wilson.

We had a chance to go after DeSean Jackson

bup bup bup

Yep, but instead we brought in guys like Mccaffrey and Samuel who don't really fit Cam's MO.

Desean Jackson, Mike Wallace or Brandin Cooks all guys that are better younger  versions of Ginn, none which we went after

Tyler Lockett and Shepard where running out of the gates coaches needs to stop being conservative with the Rookie. The only way he is going to learn is improve is with live game reps
