2nd round pick redo

Recommended Posts

OH MY fugITY fug fug

21 yo WR.....like i told yall with Funchess....he's YOUNG. Even not being so young it can take WRs until year 3 to do anything. Now look at Funchess with an NFL body and time. STAHP

Also i'll take Hunter Henry over Butler. That's the repick.

CMC and Samuel do more than catch the ball.

Have you noticed how wide open Funch and Dickson have been this year?  Guess what the defense is doing?

Not really because of Samuel though to be fair. Samuel will get there at some point, but the injury had a big impact on his early role.

I just looked back at all the picks post Samuel and there is maybe 5-7 solid players that would bode well on the panthers but nothing that stuck out. And who knows.. a lot of these guys are getting drafted as very young men. You can eye test Samuel out there and he has some growing to do but theres no denying he knows what to do with the football in his hands. Im not sure he will be a great WR w Cam but he a has a place on the team no doubt.

There were a few picks to bolster depth in the defense, safeties and CBs but we knew we had to add to our offense for Cam to win and thats what we went after. This is all hypothetical and no reason to get mad at the thread lol Im pulling for Samuel all the way but sure its curious always to the "what if" with the draft. Look back on this in 3 years and see.

Yea its way too early to tell. Samuel has had minimal impact so far, but McCaffrey has had a huge impact on how defenses play our team and how wide open Dickson, Funchess, KB have been .

Particularly with McCaffrey , he has Stewart taking alot of the carries from him and KB/Fun/Dickson getting alot of catches . Defenses still seem to be keying in on him but also hes not getting many chances either. It remains to be seen if he consistently gets less than 50 yards rush or 50 yrd rec per game , or if his role will be increased at some point in the future. Stewart had a poor performance overall today rushing but alot of it is the oline being god aweful at run blocking and Shula calling really terrible plays.

    • this is where the Bryce defense goes off the rails for me.  We all know Bryce isn't a deep ball chunk play QB.  He doesn't have those physical tools and he doesn't play the game w/ that mindset.  It simply is not what he is.  Then you got folks going essentially going, well actually Shaq was a very efficient 3 pt shooter this season.  He shot 50% from behind the arc and Steph Curry was only at 48%.  So yeah, Shaq is a very effective 3 pt shooter.  Don't say he isn't a 3 point shooter.  Meanwhile, Shaq went 1 of 2 on the season and Steph shot 9343924 3s.  Russell Wilson is a deep ball chunk QB.  Baker is. Geno was his comeback season (best in the league that year I think is the correct call).  That's the Canales pass tree. EVERY QB throws deep at some point.  Arguing you can find a good grade when they went deep one week is just that.   No one can argue Bryce plays the game like a young Wilson throwing f you hail marys downfield.   Jake Delhomme fits Canales more than any Carolina Panther QB.  Teddy Bridgewater can grade out efficiently on his deep passes.  That doesn't make him a deep ball chunk QB.  2 totally different convos.    It would be better for everyone IMO if our org accepted what the unicorn was and built a team around that given they invested so much in him.....which is the criticism I started day 1 when they put him in Frank Reich's offense.  He didn't fit that.  He doesn't fit the Canales tree either.    NFL is about fit more than anything and it's what Carolina gets most wrong.  We essentially run offenses we don't have the QB talent for and you can say the same w/ the 3-4 D.  That's the Bryce era.
    • THE David Moore !?!?! We're saved. I expect TMac to have 200 catches, 3k yards, 20 TDs and be uncoverable this year with all the information he can get from watching our HoF WR David Moore.
    • I didn't see anyone post about this, we signed Hendon Hooker to our practice squad. With Dalton hurt and looking like shite, could he perhaps roll into the season as our backup?
