What Urban Myer runs at OSU has nothing to do with anything.  If the staff doesn't trust him on the field it could be for a number of obvious reasons.  As for my own football knowledge, I know enough to enjoy the game.  I certainly don't care to brush up on anything for a discussion with you.  Thanks for the offer tho.

So basically you have no idea what you're talking about but just wanted to feel that way.

In 2017, Samuel will end up with 400 yards from scrimmage and a couple of TDs and half the board will call him a bust and the other half will blame Shula for not knowing how to use him.  In 2018, he will have 600 yards from scrimmage and 3 tds and half the huddle will call him a bust and the other half will blame Shula for not getting him enough touches.  In 2019, he will break out with 1000 yards running/receiving and 6 TDs.  Half of the huddle will wonder how we will be able to pay both he and CMC.  The other half will have moved on to calling our 2018 first rounder a bust.  (note - everyone would also be calling out 2019 first rounder a bust, but unfortunately Hurney traded that away for a 2018 second round LB/DE hybrid).

Clearly he has a very unique skillset on our team being the only true speed WR that we have, so why is it that he's not getting much playtime, targets, and not being used very well? Almost all the passes I've seen to him have been very short passes with defenders draped all over him by the time the ball gets there. I know its too much to say that he should be starting on the outside, but with the way our team seems to be functioning now, McCaffreys getting alot of time in the slot, Stew is taking the vast majority of RB carries. I'll say that our WRs have been doing a much better job at getting open, but I think Samuel could be the real X factor that we're missing that could make the offense elite.

Is he not 100% healthy? Coaches dont trust him or want to elusively play him in the slot/short routes for some reason even though he's by far and away the fastest player on the team? Give him a 30 something yard end around and never run him again? Maybe try him on the outside? There's just something I'm not getting here.

I agree that he could be the potential Xfactor.  The issue is he's a rookie and he missed significant time in TC.  We should start to see him emerge soon.  Sheppard and Samuel need a big game tonight it feels like the matchup solutions are being funneled to them.

Interesting. The iggles are having trouble against the pass. If they pay too much attention to KB, and maybe Funch. Samuel, or Shepard may just go off. Or at least you have put that thought into my head. I needed something to hold onto for the next 3 hours.

I hate night games during the day. But man, I love night games once they get here.

In response to trading Stewart, I think you could find some playoff contending  (or pretending) teams willing to make a deal. 2018 3rd round pick maybe? Not necessarily all about the value in return but rather freeing up playing time and a roster spot.

Alternatively, maybe trade for a highly paid DB who is also on the wrong side of 30 who could at least provide starting/depth quality at an area of need?

I could see Dallas looking to make a deal if the Elliott suspension is upheld. Doubt Stew takes them to the Super Bowl but they would be desperate to make a move/make a splash from a PR perspective.

I could see Minnesota interested. Green Bay....Detroit...hell that division is up in the air and all 3 could use an upgrade at RB, which Stew would be.

Oakland, KC, Denver, Baltimore....

Any of them could use some depth/help at RB. All of them might think adding Stewart makes them immediately a contender in the playoffs.

Carolina doesn't need Stew right now in my opinion.

Being that this is a copy cat league, I saw a play from the LA Rams last week where they handed Tavon A. the ball out the back field basically lined up next to his qb for a thirty yard td. First thing I thought of was how we need to incorporate giving him the ball in a similar fashion being he took a ton of hand offs in college (if I knew how to Gif) but here's s link to the play http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-cant-miss-plays/0ap3000000858427/Can-t-Miss-Play-Tavon-Austin-skates-through-entire-Seahawks-D-for-TD?akmobile=ios&akcarrier=other&icampaign="search-video-tavon+austin" we've got to find ways to get the ball in his hands it doesn't take years to contribute it takes creative play calling at the proper times. I do think we need him to run more deep routes with Cam looking focused and accurate def should take a shot or two to make sure they respect our deep ball speed.

Watched him on the Buckeyes for last few years regularly.  He's a baller.  But that's just it...he needs the BALL to BE a baller.  Gotta work him in and stretch the defense.  His speed, hands and atlecticism is electric.

Get the ball into the hands of guys that can make plays and we'll reap the benefits.

Maybe ground and pound mentality no longer working forces the usage and continuation of an evolution?

I think his problem is that right now he is just an athlete. Works fine in college when you are just faster and quicker than everyone else, but that doesn’t really cut it in the NFL.  As a WR I really don’t think he really knows how to run routes or get off a jam. Missing all that time in preseason probably didn’t help. All I see now is a poor mans Tavon Austin and that’s not a compliment. He has a lot of work to do.
