Didn't Rivera say that he was waiving the tie rule on longer trips for comfort this season?  I thought I read that somewhere before the season started.  Granted chicago isn't terribly far, but also not a real short flight either.

I think it was west coast trips

Even if they hadn't dropped the rule I would hope that Rivera had learned from the last time he pulled some BS with it on Cam. I can't remember the full details but wasn't it a Derek Anderson thrown interception for a TD? Oh well, either way Riviera would certainly unleash the fan's ire if he pulled that garbage a second time on one of our guys.

    • Or just keep running him deep and let the better recievers do the tricky stuff
    • "Listed at 6'3"" He measured 6'1" at the combine, he'd be better off in a Cordarelle Patterson or SF Deebo type of role than as a TE.
    • This is good on many accounts. We've talked about his game management skills and being overwhelmed trying to do too much.  We've talked about his inconsistent offense and how maybe it would be better if someone else was the oc.  We also saw how bad idziks offense was in the preseason.  This move along with bevels hire addresses all of this.  They know they can't back into the playoffs with a losing record again. They are actively trying to improve.  Will it work? TBD. But they are definitely trying and seem to have a plan
