The Panthers on Tuesday claimed Clay off waivers from the Bills. To make room for Clay, the Panthers placed safety Demetrious Cox on injured reserve with an ankle injury that has sidelined him the last three games.

Back on roster cutdown day (September 2), the Bills traded with Carolina for Clay, sending cornerback Kevon Seymour to the Panthers in exchange. Seymour has played in all seven games for the Panthers so far this season, playing a significant role on defense over the past month.

 

Panthers basically got Seymour for free then.

I think we gave up a 7th or something as well as Clay to get Cox, but yeah that was a great trade.

Happy Clay is back on the roster. Thought he had a nice preseason. Hopefully he can be a vertical threat for the offense

I think the question now is Seymour better than a 7th round pick?  Jury is still out on that.  He has looked pretty awful out there

He really fleeced them for a below average CB and fringe ST player.

That's assuming he went rogue and did not stick with the kicker the coaching staff wanted.
