real talk though, he looked pretty good out there. I liked that one play where he was pointing samuel out to block while he was in the act of running with the football was bad ass

That’s funny, but I will say I’ll eat my crow. 

I was pretty vocal and not happy with what he showed the first year or so. I’m happy to see what he is turning into. 

His first two years stats looked like this...

2015-2016

56 Rec 782 Yards 7 TDs 

2017

31 Rec 473 Yards 5 TDs

On a serious note with Funch, he is not playing any differently than he has his whole career, he's just getting more time on the field and he's being put in position to be the 1st or 2nd read more often. Funch is a good WR and has been since he got here. 

I know it seems like I'm needlessly defending the guy, but I get tired of the "he's finally playing really well for us" talk. No, he's playing the same he has since he got here (although he's obviously gotten better since he was drafted, but you get what I'm saying). He's never had an issue with dropping balls, he's never had an issue with running bad routes. He's never had an issue getting open pretty consistently. The areas he "struggles" are where every receiver struggles. Having his hands or arms hit while trying to reel in a pass. And even in those situations, he's winning some. Funch is a solid #1 option for us and I'm glad some of the people here are starting to come around on the guy.

Been on the wagon and was happy to see him get the opportunity. I've compared him to Moose here a lot. I stand by that

We had two #2 WRs on the field. I've said before Funch is better than KB. Funch has always shown more heart and determination than KB ever has. KB had to go. Just last offseason though. We really need a true #1 next offseason.

with a production boost in KB's absence he could reasonably hit 1000 yards and 10 TDs.
