This can’t possibly be the case. There’s no RR’s teams are better in the second half or the OL is playing better or the defense is getting turnovers. I refuse to believe that. The only possible answer to our better play is Shepard and Clay playing instead of KB. The only possible reason.

That’s one reason, but not the only.

KB is really bad at blocking period. Clay and Shepard have actually been better in that department (tbh every WR)

But you’re right in that KB is not the only reason.

Im sure a lot of that is just Cam

It's not rushing yards, it's O-line blocking metric.

It's saying first half of the year our backs were getting hit 1.89 yards after they touched the ball, so pretty much right after they get the handoff.

Now they aren't being touched until they've gone 3.74 yards, which is almost two full yards later.

That's ridiculous.

It’s yards before initial contact for the offensive line.

Obviously they are playing as a group much better and coming on strong late.

other helping factors are how the defenses are made to back off run blitzing every down and getting in our backfield ever down.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
