Russell Shepard

Russell Sheppard is in the permanent all-time Panthers' dog house purely on performance.

Only Terry Cousins, Todd Steussie, Nate Chandler, and Matt Kalil are in that club for me.

At least Pickles had a good nickname.

Saints gave Ginn $11M over three years with $3M guaranteed.

We gave Shepard $10M over three years with $2.1M guaranteed.

In terms of production he might be the worst FA contract in panthers history. Even worse than Kalil

I wonder what was going through Gettleman fat head when he saw Ginn today tear us a new bhole

I think Sean Gilbert forever and always saves anyone from that dubious claim. Signed off the franchise tag so he cost us a huge contract plus two 1st round picks. Truly one of the worst transactions in NFL, no make that professional sports history.

Ugh,  Gettleman screwed us so bad. Between his FA busts and first round draft busts he set us back a good bit. Hopefully the next GM will be competent.

Please tell me how Gettlemans 1st round picks are busts?? The only player you might be able to make an argument for is Kelvin and we atlas got something in return from him. You only call players busts when they do nothing for the team for a couple of years and then proceed to get cut and just end up being a complete loss for the team. Gettleman was a great talent evaluator, and his one mistake was Matt Kalil and he made a mistake plenty of other GMs have made trying to protect their franchise QB.

Shaq Thompson and Vernon Butler are two of the worst first round picks we've ever had.

How can you say that at all, their both 23 years old and both have already contributed. Vernon butler has been stuck behind one of the best DT tandems in the league, and when he gets in he makes plays hell he made some crucial plays in todays game. And shall Thompson has the making of a great linebacker for the panthers. he's a great coverage player, he's a hard hitter, with a natural instint for the ball. Don't let a couple bad plays make your opinion on a player, shaq is going to be special.

Please don't disrespect Armanti Edwards.  The amount of hype behind this guy going into the year seems so freaking puzzling in retrospect.

Oh man you must've missed when Edwards was doing great in TC.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
